Those of you with 18inch wheels, what size are you tires?

Im trying to decided between 245/40R18 and 235/40R18

depends on the width but you should really go 225 or 235

Between the two, I'd personally go for the 235's. 245's look like balloon tires IMO.

Remember, in order to maintain the calibration of your speedometer, the determining factor on tire sizes is ensuring that you keep the same overall tire diameter when selecting an alternative wheel/tire sizing. While it seems like it should be straightforward mathematics to multiply the tire's tread-width by the tire's sidewall percentage of tread-width in order to determine the effective tire side-wall height, you can encounter some surprises. With my Sumitomo HTR+ tires, size 235/40ZR18, that should produce a tire side-wall height of 94mm (235mm x 0.40 = 94mm). However, there's some variability in how the tire manufacturers measure the tread-width, which can result in some unexpected differences in the overall diameter of tires that have the same size specifications.

A really great tool for helping you in determining tire sizes for your car is the on-line wheel/tire shopping tool at the Tire Rack (http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/). Just select the make and model of your car on the pull-down menus, then select a wheel with the desired diameter and width. Pick an appropriately sized wheel and select the "Add to Cart and Shop for Tires" button. You can now select any tire model and the tool will tell you the recommended size for the wheel diameter/width that you previously selected; the Tire Rack's extensive database of actual tire measurements ensures that you're provided with the proper tire size.

On a 8.5" wheel , you still get a slight stretch, and the performance as well!!!

I made the mistake of running 245/40/18 on my Avant w/Avus S4 18 x 8 et 38. I get some rubbing with my suspension setup. Def 235/40/18 or possibly even 225/40/18 next set of tires.

Ive got 225 in the front, and 235 in the rear, running 18x 8. I had to take out my spacers in the rear because I was rubbing with the 235's. I wasn't when I had 225's all the way around, which seems weird to me but whatever....

i run the 245-40-18 on a 18x8 w/ 35mm offset.

not to thread jack but ive been thinkin the same thing. Me living in NYC with these Pluto sized potholes, i need a full sidewall to protect my rims and i was thinking of running 245 on 18x8 plus im not into the whole stretch thing.

I was running 12mm I believe in the back, I switched early last year, so can't remember but it was definitely over 10mm. I believe if I went with 10mm it would be perfect, but I've had a hard enough time keeping this thing on the road over making it look the exact way I want it too!!! I'm also riding pretty low, though....

No issues at all

Only issue would be when you lower the car. But with that high of a offset, i would seriousy think about getting 15mm spacer...esp when the wheels are only 8" wide

tire is too large. a 245-40-18 is more approiate.

i think it will fit perfect in the rear but in the front im thinking it will hit the tie rod..
