Does anyone use their products? It looks to be some good stuff but I don't see anyone on here using it.

    Re: Griots Garage???

I've bought a lot of their stuff. It's very good, lots of neat tools and stuff. Most of the detailing products are rebranded, sometimes its more expensive, some times it is cheaper, but you have to figure out what the original is. Their customer service is exceptional, that is the main reason I keep going back.

    It's rebranded ChemicalGuys I believe.

Edit: Some of meguiars stuff isn't crap.. a lot of it is damn good. You just have to pick and choose-- just like every product line.

    Re: Griots Garage???

I use a lot of stuff from them and have used stuff from them for years. I like it a lot. The tools are great and they have great ways of keeping things organized. Richard Griot is a car nut so he knows what he should and shouldn't sell. I do not use there polished though. Nothing wrong with thim, I used them for years. Just i think Menzerna from Phil works better.

Tried Best of Show Wax this afternoon - finish was not very good afterwards (felt a little rough to the touch). Did other 1/2 the car with Meguiar's Gold Class. Pulled the car into the sun and the Meguiar's not only looked shinier, but felt better too?

Both products were hand applied / hand taken off at the same time. Any other thoughts?

PS - the Griot's Interior Cleaner was great though, doesn't leave the shiny Amorall appearance. Will be trying the Griot's wheel cleaner tomorrow.

I love Griots Garage, the Best in Show Wax is OK at best, my dad always used to use it on his 997 Carrera S and he loves it to death, I personally have had better success with the Carnauba wax stick thing they sell. They also now have a detailing school (free, anyone can do it).

    Wax Stick:

How I started out (gift from my dad): after using a bit of Best in Show wax I discovered that the Carnauba is much much better

Update - their wheel cleaner might be "BBS Safe", but it is also the least aggressive. I tried Armorall, Meguiars and Griot's on a set of wheels at the same time (of course, different cleaner on different wheels). The Armorall worked the best, Griot's the worst in terms of getting the road gunk off. These were on factory wheels, so I didn't notice any discoloration. I also shot Griot's on my DPE's (in the barrels) and it didn't remove what I think is brake dust. I didn't want to risk the Armorall, so I just used my wheel brush and elbow grease to finish the job.

They now make something along the lines of a "Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner", looks pretty cool it changes colors while on the wheel apparently

I don't know if they arerebranded or if Griot's was another company, but I do know they make products locally. I've been to their Tacoma location many times when I lived there. Very good line of products, especially their wash-n-wax and micro-fiber mitts (sp?).

its the same place you're talking about... i have never known them to rebrand, they have always made their own and at one time, even had videos up on their site and youtube.

I use their carpet cleaner.. it gets old coffee, oil, etc. stains out.. takes a few sprays, scrubs, vacuums, repeat to get the hard to get out ,but at least it does its job.

I use their speedshine as well. I bought some speedshine towels and pulling them out of the package and popping them, they throw lent everywhere. Emailed them, took a couple weeks to reply and they said they shouldnt be like that at all.. sent me another pack for free.. opened the pack, pop, lent everywhere.. threw them on the shelf and marked it up as a loss.

I have/use Griots orbital, polish, clay, leather cleaner & wheel cleaner. Everything's great though the wheel cleaner is not terribly effective yet it's mild and hasn't caused any problems. All in all I like the company and their products. *I'm not a pro detailer but I do spend more time than most researching and trying products.

I love Griot's!!!! I use all the stuff they sell. I have been very happy with all the products! They all have a great smell and easy clean up. The only product I wont use any more is the Best of show wax ,It always seems to leave a residue and I have better effects with other waxes, besides the wax and simple green everything else is Griot's.
