im sorry if this is number 34982304 of someone posting this but i can not get over the love for this car in the snow, as i drive up my hill i pass all sorts of cars that are stuck like the gti's and civics and mini coopers, its so much fun to see the look on their face as you breeze by them at 20-25 while they are spinning with their hazards on

my a6 may not be the fastest car on the road, but in the snow, not many non-audis can keep up

Amen to that. I am in northern Nevada, and on 3 trips into Tahoe snowstorms, I have only screwed up once. Iscrewed up, but my S6 saved my ass. I went into a right turn too fast, and I hit the brakes to slow down. (this was on hard packed snow)The ABS did it's thing, and the back end didn't get out of line. So as I headed towards the snowbank on the outside of the turn, (the opposite lane) I turned my wheel in the direction I wanted to go, and the car made the turn as if it was on dry pavement. Even my passenger thought we never were in trouble. In most othe rcars, I would have ended up sliding backwards into the snowbank on the far side of the turn.

But I did find its weakness. Clearance. I high-centered it on a small snowbank in an icy parking lot. I spent 25 minutes dgging out under the car.

Other than that, I felt like I was making a commercial for Audi. I was ready to drive up a ski jump.

Yea it's funny because I don't think Quattro is good at all until I see people who don't have it (and remember the dark days of having a nissan sentra FWD).

I totally agree InsaneAudi, I'm from Watertown CT, and mine is inside the garage right now... but it's fun to see even QUATTRO TT'S and mostly Audi's or SUV's are out on main st. in this weather!!! Well enjoy it neighbor!

my biggest issue is i have summer performance directionals on my car so the quattro helps but in the end i still wind up sliding everywhere... sucks but it does help... now heres a question i have been meaning to ask. when my anti lock breaks kick in or the ESP i get all sorts of clunking... is that normal?

absolutely, the abs is a valve that opens and closes and causes that pulsing sound that sounds like your gunna is gunna snap in half..if your car is sliding idk how much clunking there should be but the electronics in the car make your differentials work like mad which could cause a clunk

alright cool just thought i was losing my mind im used to older cars MK 2 and 3 VW and well never had ABS. thanks. never bringing my rado back to NY in the winter. will be in Rochester area tomorrow who all is close?

I drive a b6 s4 and while reversing out of my drive way up hill, it got stuck/ couldn't go all the way to the street. My father said only the back wheels were spinning. There was like three inches of wet snow. Anything wrong with the awd?

Going to work this morning, I passed a BMW that got stuck in the snow. The driver wasn't there, or I totally would have ripped out the, "Audi's are BMW rescue vehicles" line. Quattro FTMFW!!!

it snowed like crazy last night(MA)...i literally shovel the snow with my front bumper and I could clearly see marks DTS made...so i'm thinking about actually raising the car higher next winter...like Subaru Outback...(and maybe slightly bigger snow tires on my OEM 16's...sick of all seasons sliding every where...)so i less have to worry about snow getting in my bumper and dragging all sorts of parts underneath...what you think?

I live in Columbus Ohio, no snow last night, but just picked up my 4.2 quattro this Jan.

I tell ya, it's night and day from driving my Lexus IS 300. I would almost always have to call off work on snowy days in that dern IS
