2 New Swissvax Waxes: Blau Weiss and Glacier

    Swissvax Official Press Release:

Each time we bring out a marque specific wax we have to expect positive and critical reactions. That's normal and understandable. The main question will always be: Is it just a marketing hype or is there really a benefit in choosing these waxes? The question arose 9 years ago when we launched "Zuffenhausen" for modern Porsche cars (meanwhile this wax has become a benchmark for treatments on Porsche paints and nobody questions its credentials anymore) or "Nitro" for nitrocellulose paints.

Contrary to other manufacturers, Swissvax's marque specific waxes do not cost significantly more than their serial counterparts (Zuffenhausen CHF 149 versus Saphir CHF 146, a difference of less than £2 ... due to smaller label printing badges etc.). An indication Swissvax has no intentions to "milk" customers.

Our serial waxes ONYX (standard wax with 30% Carnauba by vol.), SAPHIR and SHIELD (Premium waxes with 40% Carnauba by vol.) have to be effective on all automotive paints; they must perform on Japanese paint systems as good as on modern "nano paints" (Ceramicoat by Mercedes-Benz), high definition metallics and micatallics (VW Golf V, Audi A6 etc.) or old thermo acrylics used in the 60's and 70's etc. In other words they are always a compromise as they must do the splits for all paint systems.

A marque specific wax has only to match the needs of the paint system(s) this marque uses. This enables us to "tune" the wax formulation to these paints only. The advantage will be a highly improved longevity and sometimes also a solution for typical paint problems of this marque - the shine between serial and marque specific waxes, however, are virtually the same.

Blau Weiss: These waxes last longer on BMW cars than our serial Saphir wax (imporoved longevity). Furthermore, "cures" the highly scratch sensitive finish of X3's new paints (black, black metallic etc. on X3) in the showroom (solution for typical paint problems).

Glacier: These waxes are for white cars (and for white cars only!). They feature a highly dirt-repellent formulation and fight those ugly black runs after a rain on the paint. And most importantly, those black runs do not eat into the paint anymore. Optical brighteners (similar as in Quick Finish) help to make a white look real shiny.

By the way, for us it is not so much of importance WHO supplies the paint system, it is much more important HOW it was applied. (e.g. PPG paint used on Aston Martin DB7's out of Blocksum production was horribly scratch sensitive, PPG paint used on Lamborghini or Spyker is not ...).

Re: 2 New Swissvax Waxes: Blau Weiss and Glacier

I'm starting from ground zero here; I have essentially no car care supplies after driving a junker around for several years now.

I have a brand new car (with a few rock chips already, just a few) so I don't need swirl remover and such, but being in the Denver area I do need to protect against the salt that is applied in winter. So, based on that, can you recommend a package around the Glacier wax? I see The Ultimate Flex XC3401VR Kit that you have on your site, but if I am planning on using the Glacier wax would I need all those products?

Thanks for the help from a newbie!

yes you can use all those products but take the glanz wax out and replace it with the Glacier.

Or better yet how bad is your car's paint now.

Paint is in great shape. As noted, the car is brand new. I need to get some touch up paint from the dealer and take care of a couple two or three spots but that's it.

Re: 2 New Swissvax Waxes: Blau Weiss and Glacier

I had this long post put together but I think I've learned a bit clicking around on your site. I still have questions, however.

Swissvax Cleaner Fluid - would this be used after the polish but before waxing? Or used before the polish? This isn't a polish replacement, is it? If not, why would you need this if you just washed the car?

Swissvax Glacier - This would, of course, be used after polishing. Would I need anything other than the yellow applicator pads for this? Is this not to be applied with a power buffer?

I'm struggling trying to determine what would be the correct polish to use. There's a Menzerna Super Finish PO106FA. It describes a "powder fine abrasive". I'm concerned about putting anything on a new car with the word "abrasive" in it. I would think that you wouldn't need abrasives just yet. What are your thoughts on this? Would this product: Menzerna Micro Polish PO87MC Final Polish be more appropriate? While reading about Menzerna PO203S Power Finish, it says that the 203S has more of a cut than 106FA. I am a bit confused. Keep in mind that I have a white vehicle.

Also, based on the polish recommendation, what applicator pad would most appropriate?

(Also, as an aside, the search function on your site does not work. At all. I searched for "Menzerna SIP" and got 28 products. I searched for "Menzerna Nano Polish" and got 121 results. )

on the search function we are awaiting for upgrades that should have happened months ago. however the company is not ready yet.

its because of all the text and writing with SIP and nano polish in them it searching content.

you said your car was brand new with no issues Swissvax cleaner fluid is perfect for your car follow it by Swissvax Glacier.

Now you are putting polish into the mix.

so if that's the cash I would go with PO106fa and a uber blue pad with a PC or Flex XC3401.

You can do Menzerna by hand but it will take you a bit of time to get the optimal results.

Swissvax cleaner fluid is a pre cleaner, it preps the surface for the wax, its recommended to be used 1-2 times a year. It will strip off all the old wax and contaminants in the paint.

Also it can remove very light swirls and scratches.

    LMK if that helps.

That is very helpful, thank you! I've been driving a beater around for a few years so I've been "out of the game" when it comes to detailing. Perhaps this doesn't belong in this thread, so I'll start another one. Thank you for the help!
