What size are the bolts? The only write up that I can find says 7mm hex, but that doesn't work. Anyone know for sure?

7mm? Did you mean 17mm? I've seen 18mm on some and 22mm on others.

Yeah, sorry, I meant 17mm, but that wasn't the right size. I found that mine are 21mm

    Re: Front caliper bolts

yeah they're 21mm's on the front, and then the small bolt holding on the brake lines is 13mm I think. The rear calipers require a 13 and 15 mm wrench, and a 7mm allen wrench (male end), if you want to take off the caliper bracket as well at least.

Amazingly, the s4 is easier to do than the b5 a4.

    Re: Front caliper bolts

So apparently the Audi parts bin was low stock on bolts during certain production runs..
Mine are 18mm and I knew some were 22mm, and apparently 21mm..

Maybe it goes by the build year because mine is a 2000 and it has 18mm also.

So, I'm bringing this thread back from the dead. I had a caliper bolt back out last night at some point. Is the pitch of the threads all the same between the different bolt sizes. If so, what is it?

Anybody? I've got the 18mm bolt. Just trying to save some effort. Don't want to remove the caliper and take the bolt somewhere to match it up
