what ? sedan or avant? the Avant euro is the same as the US sans the absorber. the sedan difference is greater bumper sits closer to the body.

Ok, I've always avoided understanding this, but I really honestly don't know what the difference. If I order an S4 rear, do I have to specify Euro Spec or U.S or something?

i'll tell you this it's cheaper for you to go w/ the US rear bumper than it is to go w/ the S4 rear. The S4 rear bumper will require the cover/rebar/absorber along w/ other trim pieces.

Also going with a eurospec you'd pay for shipping which is very expensive. I was lucky enough to piggyback on an order w/ SPP w kerscher so i didn't have to pay for shipping But that's it in a nutshell.

Not so sure about this. The Ultrasport bumper is cheaper, but I don't think you need all that stuff for the U.S. spec S4 rear. Well, for a sedan at least. From what I understand all you need for a U.S. spec sedan S4 rear is the bumper cover and the trim. The absorbers have different part numbers, but I believe they are pretty much the same size, just with different rates. I don't think you really need the rebar either. All the hardware is reused too.

Boosteda4 has a U.S. spec S4 rear and I recall him saying he only bought the cover and the trim and it worked.

You need all that other stuff for a Euro spec S4 rear though.

i hope you're right Kris cuz that would suck to have to stop mid way to get the part. But if that's the case than even better!

I hope I'm right too. I guess I will find out sometime soon. I can't remember, but I think two people told me thats all I need. If I need more I guess I will be driving around with no bumper waiting for parts.

That damn bumper skin is so expensive though. I didn't even see how much I can get the trim for. I'll look more into it pretty soon.

So I hear. For the Ultrasport rear, do I need anything besides the bumper cover? Maybe I'll go that route. We'll see.

Thanks for the pics. Now I see the difference.

hum... that i wouldn't know... but my guess would be most likely... the bumper skin being shorter, i'd assume the rebar mountings would be needed...

Don't forget the trim. Or is that the rebar? I'm hoping (crosses fingers) that I don't need the absorbers for the US spec.

Only $428 for the U.S. bumper cover? That must be for an Avant. With my wholesale account they told me closer to $500. Either that or my local parts department is a bunch of tards (very likely).

oh yah it's 160 for the U.S. trim at least for the avant. And it does fluctuate the price.

your guy is he buying from Audi and reselling to you? that's probably the mark up right there. If you have a bodyshop that you're tight w/ they can order it direct and u pay cash and no sales tax

Nope. Buying directly from a local Audi dealer. I don't pay tax with a wholesale/resale account either. I'm not positive, but I swear this dealership's prices are higher than others. I think he quoted me around $512 for the cover, but with my account it would be $467? Either way, they must have the wrong part numbers or something. Seems like everything they quote me on is high.

I asked how much for S4 door blades and I think they told me my discount price would be over $400. I know Peter got them for MUCH cheaper from a dealer.

kris u have to remember there are many levels of discounts from the dealer if you're an employee it's a 6 so if think about it if you're just a level 1 or 2 think how much it really is...

So true. I hadn't really thought about that. Usually most businesses tell me how much of a discount up front, but not the dealership. Usually a business will increase your discount over time if you make lots of purchases or spend a lot of money. I'm sure they see me as a punk kid. They must be giving me around %10 off and thats it.

^^^ That is correct sir, unless like you said, you are in tight with someone.

Maybe I will just paint my rear for now and get the S4 bumper down the road when I have more money. Funds are going to be a little tight for a while since I'm picking up some parts from an AZ member this weekend.

you know i was thinking of going the euro bumper as i really like the truncated look but after reading A4NCAR (daryll)'s experience and, if i remember correctly, he paid over $1000 USD. and i think he said something about a discount. that made it easy for me to choose a different bumper! i went with the S4 myself (have an A4) but it isnt installed yet. when i do i'll post about mounting if it'll help.

A4NCAR has a nice setup. his rear bumper just looks sick. i might just go with the U.S. rear bumper because of the int'l shipping charges. let us know when you install your's.

IIRC from those on AW that did the US S4 rear bumper, it was only the actual bumper skin and the trim piece necessary. Easy enough to confirm with those who did it, or search for it.

The Euro S4 Sedan bumper is more invloved (but there was a few repeated pieces).
