Illuminated door handles!?!?

While hardcore detailing the inside of my car yesterday i noticed that interior door handles are illuminated. I thought only the RS4 and possibly S4 had that? Am i an idiot?

you might have got an illumination package or something along those lines... but consider yourself lucky, i wish i had those!

So all B7's don't have that? Maybe all 2008's got them as a way to clear out the parts bin for the B8? (kinda like how 2008 s-line got the RS4 pedals)

nevertheless my 08 has lights that dim on / off in door handle..thought that would be standard.

maybe it is... i could very well be mistaken but don't remember there being any lights on mine... but i did get the first of the B7 models (a 05.5) so they might not have incorporated it then

my 06' without premium,sport,cold weather package has that. every audi i have ever seen has it.

Ohh pffft. Way to ruin my fun. I know the B6's didn't, except i think the S4.

If anyone is wondering now if they have them, just look up in door handle and see if theres a clear strip along the top. They're not very bright because i've driven the car a few times and night and never noticed them.

I have it on my 05.5 3.2. I didn't notice for a long time until my daughter pointed it out, she's low enough to see it. Mine is a red strip and I think it's either always on or on with the headlights.

they're a little dim, but it's a nice subtle touch.

Mine light up in my B6, it's a common Audi thing, it shows their attention to detail!

not true, any 08 with the actual s-line package got the pedals. I Have an 08 S-line without ti package and I have the pedals

I have an 05.5 B7A4 2.0T And my handles light up But I never even noticed it until it was mentioned on here It's pretty cool

Since this thread has been revived, you should also note that the overhead console has two leds that light up the gearshift/lower console area; effect is most noticeable when night driving on a road with no street lighting.

I see a light strip within the handle, but no light emanating from it. Would I need to replace the LEDs?

Parking lights or main lights have to be on, for the interior handle lighting to show.
