Hey guys, searched the forums a bit.. but didn't find anything. I'm looking for the gap measurements on spark plugs for the 3.0L v6. I know the 1.8T is .032" - is this the same for the 3.0? TIA!

    correct... .044.

torque to 22ft lbs. if you're using oem platinum, they will be pre gapped.

What type of plugs are you going with? Need to change mine soon in my 3.0L as soon as I order some coil packs to do at the same time.

    Thanks

I just went with a set of NGK's from PureMS

    http://www.purems.com/products/product.php/II=2113

I had 2 CPs replaced recently, and figured it would be fine if I replaced only the plugs..

Re: 3.0L Spark Plug Gap Specs

Ya is .44 and I recomend going with those NGK Iridium IX for your car.. I have those and I love 'em! They come pre-gapped and there simple step-ups from OEM.. But my buddy runs in his 1.8T the Bosch Platinum Ir Fusion and they not only look sick, but he says they gave him a "noticble" power punch... Dunno if thats true or not, but there not bad for there price.

-- Also, any of you do the myth of putting the opening of the spark plug toward the center of the engine?? Rumor has it, it give a extra horsie or two... --

I believe Old Guy has some recommendations for swapping plugs w/out a torque wrench. Probably not a great idea though since the block is aluminum and over-torquing can cross-thread, and you definitely DON'T want that. I'd just invest in a decent torque wrench, but its up to you.
