    Paint protection package?

    Hi,all.

I'll get my A4 '05 Dolphin Gray delivered on next Saturday. The dealer here wants to sell some paint protection/leather protection/3M fabric protection/undercoating at about US$400.00. I don't know what product they use. They told me paint protection is permanent wax kinda thing, and they will give lifetime warranty for leather/3M stuff.

Do you guys think it is good to buy when I first buy an Audi? I don't know how to clean/wax in very nice way, frankly speaking.

    Need your expert opinion.

    Thanks.

"permanent wax"??? Oh so like they put this stuff on your car and you'll never have to wax it again. Yeah right.

"Leather Cleaner".. You can buy a bottle of the 3m stuff at any auto parts store for less than $10.00 and do it yourself.

You are being hosed. I suggest you go over to edmunds.com and look under "tips and advice" for buying new cars and you'll see that dealers always try to add this sh*t to your bill as a means of bosting their profits from the sale.

Decline it and learn how to take care of the car finish yourself. It's not expensive or hard. (for about half that price you can buy all the stuff you need to take care of your car for years)

I dissagree, I wouldn't go for the exterior teflon, not worth the money. But if you watch the boards, several people have had problems with the interiors of their relatively new cars. Hoehn Audi in San Diego "tefloned" the interior 14 months and 22,000 miles ago, and my interior is still in perfect shape. No rubber peeling, leather cracking or anything of the sort. But, that's just me.

how exactly do you teflon the interior? teflon won't adhere to anything unless applied under extreme temperatures and pressure.

$3000 is alot. For me, I choose to go with the 3M invisible bra and wax the car twice a year, plus the leather protection. Don't get the rust protection, A4 has 144 months for rust warrenty, so what's the point for the rust protection.
