    Mobil 1 15W-50?

I'm about to do a 50K service on my car. So far I'm looking to do the following:

    Fuel Filter
    Spark Plugs
    Engine Air Filter
    Cabin Air Filter
    Brake Bleeding
    Oil Change
    Anything else?

Also, I track my other highly modified, air-cooled car a lot so I have a huge amount of Mobil 1 15W-50 full synthetic oil in my garage. Being that the Audi will be driven in hot conditions this summer, I'm thinking of using the Mobil 1 !15W-50 higher viscosity oil (I use 5W-40 synthetic in the winter). My question is, has anybody used this higher viscosity oil and is it VW approved for the 1.8T engine?

    Thanks!

Here is what it says on Redline oil's web site about 15w50.

Not recommended for street use in production engines that see sustained oil temperatures below 225°F
Every person that I know that runs 15w50 does it for track only.

You can run that 15W50 in your car, but it will not be as responsive. That is a really thick oil. Got to think of how your crank turns easier in a lighter oil, thus making full spool/power quicker. You only need that kind of oil in your car if it is getting piss ass hot! I personally would run 5W40 in summer.

I just hit 140k and been using 0-40 since my first oil change.
