What do you mean by "as for they will not be releasing this model in the united states"?

The next generation of A3 is coming to the US, and they are even bringing a 2.0T Quattro variant this time. I can only assume you mean that they are not bringing the S3. In which case you are right, but it would not be worth the time or money in my opinion to bother importing one.

First you would have to buy it in Euros, and with the weak US dollar it would cost a fortune and then you would have to go through all the import costs and taxes and certifications. If you want an S3, just buy the new A3 2.0T quattro and do the S3 K04 turbo swap and buy yourself S3 front and rear bumpers. I am sure it would cost less.

just an S3 K04 turbo swap and a few pieces of body work is far away from the real S3.... but i agree with you its not worth the time and energy and the money now to get the new S3 imported....

He said A3 Hatchback. To me that means the two door A3. Which makes it even less worth it to import than the S3, lol.

Maybe money isn't an issue and he just wants the car?

well, i think the s3 only comes on two doors right? so even if you buy body stuff the a3 wont look like an s3, also you dont have to pay euros you can buy it in mexico on us. dollars http://www.audi.com.mx/audi/mx/es2/n...dor_todos.html

    Thanks for the Mexican website.

For those who were talking about the new platform coming out perhaps you missed my post where it said HB, also known as the SPORTBACK. And no they aren't importing the S3 or the Sportback, and money is and isn't an issue. When you consider that the Sportback is under 30k it makes it VERY worth it to me, also seeing how you will rarely find another one like it in the US makes it even more worth it.

I guess now I just need to figure out what it would take to register a Mexican car in the US.

Thanks for the info, and btw I am trying to do a 500awhp Sportback A3.

    So what do you want?

We have the 5-door A3 Sportback here in the States. We don't get the 3-door. You have plenty of options with the Sportback. You just can't get quattro with a 6-speed manual transmission. If you want quattro on your Sportback it will be DSG only, but you do get your choice of 3.2l VR6 or the 2.0t 4-banger.

If money isn't an issue and you want 500 HP at the wheels you will need to go with the 3.2l and get an after-market turbo, probably through HPA Motorsports in British Columbia. I think it will be very difficult to get the 2.0t to 500 HP. Plus, I can't imagine it would be very stable if you got it there.

Maybe I am just confused as to what you want. A3(Euro)=3-doors, Sportback(Euro)=5-doors, A3(United States)=5-doors.

Re: Info on Importing the new A3 Hatchback....

^^^What this guy said. If you are looking to get 500whp i think you are going to have to spend a shit load of money. I think your best bet in terms of reliability and accessibility is to get a turbo kit for the 3.2 A3. HPA's products, while overpriced are said to be about as reliable as you can get, and i would bet a damn sight more stable and driveable than a custom big turbo kit that makes 500awhp. I cant even imagine the lag on a 2.0T to get 500awhp. and at that point you would have to do rods and build the engine.

But, all that being said, its your money and your goal, do whatever you want if you want to do it.
