here it goes:
the first pic was taken from a4mods.com. it says this is his front left and it would be moving counter clockwise when going forward.

Second pic from a search on "slotted rotors" on google. And here is the scripture that accompanied the picture:
"Slotted rotors
It is very important, when slotting rotors, to machine the slots in the opposite direction to the internal vanes. Slotting rotors parallel to the internal vanes will weaken them and may result in catastrophic failure. Surprisingly, many slotted rotors, particularly those sold on eBay, have slots running in the wrong direction and some are even slotted all the way to the outside edge, further weakening the rotor. These rotors should be avoided.
StopTech SportStop rotors are properly machined with slots crossing the internal vanes. As discussed above, the internal vanes should lean toward the back of the car. Thus, the slots should tilt in the opposite direction, toward the front of the car. This is shown on the left in the diagram below.
What about slotted rotors that do not have directional internal vanes? In this case, the orientation of the slots does not matter. However, StopTech still manufactures left and right rotors for these cars so customers can maintain a consistent appearance. Since some cars are equipped with directional front rotors and non-directional rear rotors, StopTech SportStop rotors have slots that line up visually on both sides of the car. We recommend always installing rotors with the slots leaning forward to reduce the chances of error and to ensure that rotors are always cooling at their maximum efficiency."

Picture 3 is a random pic from google images.

Picture 4 is a random google pic and the slots are pointing the other way.

so by looking at the rotors i bought from ecs, which would you say is the front left and front right?
