    Red warning light when accelerating

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have this problem, when i accelerate hard, sometimes red warning light on display appears (O-ring with ( ) around and exclamation mark in O ) with 3 peeps. Earlier when i shut down the engine and turn on again this light goes off, but now it wont, it goes off when it wants, when im driving around. What this sign means and what it might wrong with my car? Someone told that its some kind of break shoe or break stuff sign? I have this light and peeps also when im letting my car idle with turbotimer.

Re: Red warning light when accelerating

Sounds like the brake light and buzzer to me. I would guess that the electrical solder in the ABS module breaks away from the circuit board when you accelerate hard, causing the brake light to come on the the 3 beeps of death to be heard. If it continues and/or gets worse, you can order a rebuilt ABS module from ECS tuning among other places.

One of my friend told too, that it might be the break fluid. I think i will change it and look what it will do then. This ABS module is expensive thing?

Re: Red warning light when accelerating

Just check your brake fluid reservoir and if it's low, you know that's your problem. If not, the ABS module is the most likely culprit

Re: Red warning light when accelerating

Okey im smarter now, my friend told me that he has exactly the same thing, and caused by rear break pads, they are so worn out that all the brake fluid go to brake cilinder and thats why the brake fluid level are so low. If I remind im not changed my rear pads yet.

I had that problem happen on my BT GTI I had previous to the S. It was low and everytime I would get onto it the light and buzzer would come on.

If its not that its the ABS module like everyone else has stated.

Good luck.. Hope its an easy fix like just putting more fluid in.

    Cheers

Re: Red warning light when accelerating

Does it happen when cornering VERY HARD? Or how about braking VERY HARD?

I'm guessing brake fluid level (happened to me, it's from brake fluid being low level)... So wipe off your cap and check the fluid, should be clean no debris and at the proper level.
