a Bit longer than 5 minute Fogs w JUST Parking/City Lights

I'm trying this. I just hope that when the switch is turned onto low beams if it drops power for a split second and might make an HID ballast turn off.

I did this today in my 2004 Avant and the function for ROTW did not change at all.

I tried setting my car back to Canada, then to ROTW again and still nothing.

Any ideas?

This is the end state I am looking for...

Light switch off = No lights (like USA setting)
Light switch Auto = Auto
Light switch to parking/city lights = city/parking lights on (like USA setting)
Light switch to parking/city lights & pulled out = Fogs on with parking/city lights
Light switch to on = low beams on.
Light switch to on and pulled out = low beams and fogs on.

Have something similar. I believe i am ROW as a buddy vagcommed me and I wired it up, fogs DO work with parking lights, but the outside ambers are ON... trying to only have the DRL bulb and the fogs on at the same time. Any ideas?

Pulling up an old thread.

So I went out to play with VAGCOM today in an attempt to get JUST fogs to come on without ANY other lights. Basically what I would like to see happen is for just the fogs to come on with ignition, switch still in OFF position, no brake running lights at all. Do I just need to do the wire wrap mod? My B7 is already set for ROW, no Auto feature, halogen US car. What I would like to see is just fogs on with ignition, still on with city, still on with headlights and still on with high beams. Possible? Remember US car with halogens and NO Auto feature.

I did this quick mod about a month ago and had great success. However recently I’ve been running in to issues with either the fogs not coming in when my switch is in the headlight position, or sometimes the fogs just not turning on at all upon request.

When I first did this mod it worked without the VAG-COM so I figured I didn’t need it. Although with my recent glitches I’m wondering if it is my missing step. Could any direct me on where to snag a VAG-COM cable and five a quick explanation on what it can do?
