OK guys, p.82 of the owner's manual:
"If the sun blind is operated repeatedly within a short time, the built-in overload protection circuit may be tripped. If this occurs, you will have to wait briefly before you can operate the sun blind again."
"Because of the decrease in the flexibility of the blind material at temperatures below freezing, the electrical circuit which operates the blind shuts off when the temperature in the vehicle fall below 23 F (-5 C). The blind cannot be operated until the passenger compartment warms up above this temperature."
I experienced this last winter and thought WTF, I broke the sunshade! But once the car warmed up, the sunshade retracted just fine. I use mine a lot in the summer time. Black on black car you really need it when parked all day outside at work.
I think the clicking you're hearing is the relay switch activating. It's located on the underside of the parcel shelf, along with the motor for the sunshade. I installed mine myself, so I'm familiar with the layout and operation.
