B6 S4 Mods Only The Best

Im thinking about getting a B6 S4 6sp and i was just wondering if u guys could help me out via mods for it~

What is the best exhaust kit to get for it? AWE is good but is there any better or is a custom fabricated one the best?

what are the best performance parts to get for a B6 S4? i have done my research on A4's but im new to S4 mods. MTM Supercharger is a maybe for me, i am going to be patient and see how the Twin Turbo fabrication comes along from the other thread.

miltek is good quality but it sounds like a busted chain-saw idc what anyone says, IMO it does.

APR is rubbish with a capitol R. Im not gonna use names but a dealer close to me is an official distributor and the head parts guy hates having to sell and speak good of such a bad product. From what he showed me, the fitment on the downpipes is horribly off and the cat-back wont even align properly.

Fast intentions by far the best sound however way you want. H-pipe, x-pipe, resonated or not. Quality is incredible. I looked at every single exhaust and this is the only one that fit my bill. And you wont break the bank like you would with the miltek.

as for performance, snub mount is a must. dealer installed mine. 2 hour job, $220. Chip, I love my REVO. GIAC is also good.

Intakes for sound, if you want performance, K&N drop-in fits the bill perfectly and also does not cost $400. I have my entire intake box and tract wrapped in gold heat reflective tape from CDOC and i couldnt be happier.

MTM charger costs how much it does for a reason, you get a quality item. If companies are trying to come out with a "cheaper" solution, it is cheaper for a reason. If you want big power, and can afford it, go for it.

Never heard of fast intentions, but i know miltek sounds good. I'd also suggest a short shifter for quicker speed applications to the wheels.

Were you able to feel any difference with this tape? I'm running the Strat CAI and I've been looking for something like this, since I feel like the intake to the throttle body is exposed to a lot of engine heat thereby not really allowing the Strat to work at it's full potential.

with one layer, no not really, but i then wrapped it with 4-5 layer (depending on places) and i could feel the car still being eager even after very long runs. i dont have any test equipment but using my good old "finger" thermometer, i could feel the plastics being somewhat cooler

Fast intentions has been out for a while now, only as of the past year or two have they started to make a name for themselves. quality is on par with milltek IMO but the sound blows it away.

watcht he short shifters though, known to give tranny problem because of improper engagement of gears and dealers will void your warranty for that exact reason. i feel the stock throw in these cars is short enough, im not a big fan of that snick-snick feel. makes it feel very firm and almost uncomfortable. very similar to wrx/sti feel

X3 I think APR deserves to be up there up at the top as they have have the least problems with their DP's out of anyone.

ALso in terms of the MTM charger, that is complete price gouging. It may be a quality product but its not like a roots blower is a thing of mechanical wizardry. They didnt have to make gold from sand to make this blower. Its simply that they are the only company with a S/C for the S4 so they can charge this price. A supercharger is very simple - especially a roots blower. The complicated part comes with tuning. THats where they probably charge the most.

the labree and fast intentions as well as awe exhausts are 2.5 inches as opposed to 2.25 of apr and milltek. Some say that with the 2.5 there is not enough backprsssure and you do not gain as much power as a 2.25 inch kit.

well the myth is that you lose low-end torque, not horespower which is actually what you gain in significance compared to the more restricitive apr and milltek. and the loss is not drastic like people make it out to be. more like 2-3 lb ft of torque at the low end

Hell yeah, I went through Danny at Fast Intentions a week and a half ago for my Fast Intentions catback (xpipe, resonated)... Did the install with little help (that stock exhaust weighed a fucking ton) in just shy of 2 hours (took my time making sure everything lined up right)...

The sound just from the catback is phenomenal! Beware though, if you are a TIP (like me, I know I know... but it will be our only car when we move to Hawaii in May and she can't drive stick) you will more than likely find yourself using "Drive" WAAAY less because of drone... the car LOVES 6th gear at around 30-40mph...

The MTM charger is my last ditch effort, one garage is making a twin turbo kit which they will release in the summer if it is successful which im planning on getting if it is... if it isnt THEN i will go with the MTM charged S4...

Hey every one, some good info here, but does any one know about Thermal R&Ds exhaust? I have one on my A4 and I love it. I sent them an e-mail and they told me it will fit and work on an S4 and I was wondering if any one knew about this? I asked them to clarify if they advise this or if there is a specific one for the s4. That's cool if it fits, but if it's not going to do anything then i'd rather not put it on.

I have the Fast Intentions CB and couldn't be happier. I do not have a drone as someone said they had earlier, but I have the manual and that guy has a tip.
