German Sport Auto-Audi 3.2 Quattro test

    Equipment:
    -S Line Package
    -S Line Exterior Package
    -19" wheels RS4 design 255/35-19

    0-100km/h: 6.0s
    0-200km/h:23.7s

    Weight: 1700kg(weight distribution 55.5% front, rear 44.5%)

Hockenheim track time 1.18,0min(!) with Dunlop SP Maxx tires

Short comment from the article-best balanced Audi from current range(R8 apart, RS6 Avant not yet tested). Better drive dynamics then S5 according to them...

    S5 number for comparison:

    0-100km/h: 5.1s
    0-200km/h:19.1s

    Weight: 1722kg(weight distribution 57.5% front, 42.5% rear)

Hockenheim track time 1.18,8min with Dunlopl SP Maxx tires
1.17,2min with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires

Again, it's not my post, but sounds really good for the new A4 3.2V6. It's slower on the straights then the S5 (of course!!!), but on the track .. another story. On this track it's faster than the B7 S4, faster than the S5(with the same tires), the exactly same time as the 335i sedan ... not bad at all. It just makes me wonder even more about the S4 B8 ... what can we expect from it?

why are those good numbers? i think the 330 and even the 328 r under 6.. and and theyre is no fucking way if its the same driver hed go slower in the s4 around the track unless he was a scared .. that makes no sense the s4 has much more power and torque not to mention probably lower to the ground with better rear swaybar if it isnt the same as the 3.2's....the only thing that makes the newer a4s cornwering better is the weight ratio.. but i wouldnt think that enough diff to make the 3.2 even close to a s4.. on track those arent to much slower then a lambo (from watching TOPGEAR) thats accurate facts. ---ALL though i say all this i do hope it performs as you say in this test.. THAT MEANS THE NEW s4 is going to be a f*cking bad ass on the track( AND I WANT ONE)

Doesn't surprise me that the A4 has better driving dynamics, its a sedan. You end up with more weight in the ass end of the car than you do with a coupe thats got a big front end and not to mention a big V8.

Its the same reason the B7 Avant that I drove as a loaner handled better than my B7 Sedan. Simply has a more 'manageable' weight distribution.

Though, like a lot of Audis, it still understeered like a bitch .

I would imagine the B8 S4 Avant will handle really well.

Both tests were done by the same magazine.
And it's not only about the weight ratio .. It matters a lot the distance between axles (front - rear), also this A4 might have a much better suspension setup, also an updated quattro.

We'll find out from future tests, but I think I'm gonna get the new S4 too.

No, you're not! You're getting an SUV and thats it!
