Window Tinting in Queens (Tint %?)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

Anyone know a well known place that does tints perfectly? And for those who have their windows tinted, which % is good? I know its illegal but how dark are your windows?

I'm thinking about 25% in the front, 20% in the back and windshield. What do you guys think? 15% is the lowest correct?

    Take it to Highline Detailing..

    170-14 39TH AVE. FLUSHING NY 11358
    718 3532830
    1888 TINTMAX(8468629)

most of the places in flushing carry 35%, 20% and 5% (limo tints).. I use 35% all around but thinking about redoing mine since its turning slightly purple now.. 35% are pretty dark already since our interior is black.. but I personally like them real dark so im going to do 20% fronts, 5% back and rear windshield 20% right after winter..

$200, they quoted me on the 3M with lifetime warranty... Expensive but worth it I'm sure....

It's relatively cheap when you compare prices to Top Of The Line Tint in Lodi, NJ. I paid alot more than $200 there.

do those 3M tints turn colors after a while? and if so, lifetime warranty means they'd replace them if they do?

Re: Window Tinting in Queens (Tint %?)

Before my s4, I had an sti and I got my sti done at a place called boom boom.. address is 3453 Leavitt St in flushing.. their number is 718-321-1860.. they do an ok job.. very minor imperfection but no job is really perfect.. I didnt really care about my sti that much so it didnt really matter for me.. I got charged around $140-160..

Another place thats pretty popular is crowns on northern blvd... their address is 135-11 northern blvd.. they do a pretty good job also but charge a bit more than boom boom and their warranty is longer too.. I believe they charge $200..

let me know when you are going to get yours done.. I need to redo mine too..

Does anyone know how much is the price to take off tints? Mine are really faded purple and I want to take em off then put it back on. I went to Stadium on northern and willets and they told me better take em off myself and then they would tint them for me again.

if i remmeber correctly its about $60 more or less to take off tints, it requires alot of time and goo gone to take off the sticky residue once the tint film are taken off.. thats why the people at shea stadium are reluctant to do it because it takes a lot of time and effort..

i went to Highline detailing to get their hand wash and i gotta say very impressed. its $15 for the interior and exterior but they really take their time when doing it and are very thorough. if you guys are in the area check it out. the prices are very reasonable.

    Fellas,

I'll be getting my tints done here :

    Highline Detailing

    170-14 39TH AVE. FLUSHING NY 11358

As recommended a few posts above me. I made an appointment on Monday, the price will be $200 flat with lifetime warranty (3M tints). I'll be getting 20% all around so I'll let you know how it turns out.

Re: Window Tinting in Queens (Tint %?)

So I got my tints done yesterday at Highline Detailing...

First of all, my appointment was at 9:00 AM (First appointment of the day because I had to go to work at 1PM and there were no class for me). I got there at 9:00 AM SHARP and there was a cop waiting... Go figure. They have a contract with the NYPD so guess who went first. Ok, fine. You have authorita and you gotta go do your cop business.

The detective got a 35% on the front and 20% in the back. He advised me to do the same. Steve (guy doing tints) finished at around 10:45. I told him I was in a time crunch and he started on my car.

Everything was going well until he couldn't do my driver side window. He messed up about 3 times. Now the quality of the tints are flawless. They use 3M's FX-HP. The best 3M tint, (HP = High Performance). I got charged $216.75 (tax included).

I went home after and I checked the rear windshield. And there are some tiny bubbles. I don't know if I'm being too anal or picky but if I paid almost $220 for tints, I want them to be goddamn fucking perfect. I don't know if Steve was rushing cause I said I was in a time crunch or he did a sloppy job. Maybe I'm being way too anal. BUT the tints look awesome. I don't know if I'm going to go back cause I really don't have the time or patience to go back there. I waited more than 4 hours to get my tints done when it was a 1.5 hour job.

I will recommend this place but just look at the job after he's done.

Re: Window Tinting in Queens (Tint %?)

most of the bubbles in the tint on your back winsheild will dry out and theyll be perfect in a couple of days...iv had about 4 cars and i got them all tinted...right after there are always bubbles and the first time i was freaking out but when i went back they explained that if you leave your car in the sun for a couple of hours theyll disapear...and they were right...dont worry too much about them, give your tints about 3 days and if the bubbles are still there then go back and complain but chances are theyll be gone by then....thats also one of the reasons most people get tints done in the summer...the hotter they get the better theyll turn out...due to the cold some of your bubbles might just survive, thats when you go and complain...

Thanks for the tip! The bubbles did go away after 2 days. My garage is heated to 76 degrees, so I think that helped.
