Where to buy Triple Square's?

Yeah so im fixing to start tearing my car apart this weekend but when i called the guy at sears acted like i was looking for alien tool when i asked him if they had triple square bits/sockets (for the driveshafts) i believe i need 12mm if i remember right.... i should have all the other basic tools needed...

where did u guys get urs?

in my defense, i've always used torx on pretty much every part of my cars that has ever needed taking apart to this day...

Right becaus the only things that need triple squares are the driveshaft/flywheel/seats

well, if i cant find them tonight (at sears or lowes), ill be postponing this job till next weekend...

whats even stranger is my clutch is holding great now??? i had a 3.0 a4 try to race me on the interstate and i killed him.. i drove it easy for a week after it slipped

Headbolts use the triple square. I got some at autozone.

no luck at autozone... do i just need the one 12mm triple square for the driveshafts or are there any other sizes i need?

i know i need a special one to drain tranny fluid.... but ill have to search it up unless someone knows offhand

the DIY's i have printed, one tells me a t40, one says 12mm triple square and the other says 10mm triple square!

Depending on the MY, they all use a different one. My car used 10mm IIRC

I was just looking for a T8 torx on ECS and they have triple squares. By the way a long shaft T8 is next to impossible to find.

Sears does not carry them, Kragen and AutoZone do for sure. They are not sockets however, at AutoZone they come in a four pack that looks like this

Check www.zdmak.com as well. Hazet makes REALLY nice tools, but they are pricy. You can get anything on that site. Snap On also is top quality.

Ive used the bits from Advance Auto Parts and Napa and destroyed most of them. There is an old saying for things like this: Buy nice, or buy twice!

yeh thats what i used to pull the head bolts off my vw. they were a much bigger set and not cheap. you have to look real hard to find them.
