At the crossroad of getting a 95 s6 and going 034 3071 w/ their s.w. or elim 2871 on my paid off b5 with rennart. I noticed that the numbers are similar between the two and am curious if anyone has any first or second hand info on the benefits of each vs the other. I thought the 2.2l would smoke the 1.8l with a 3071 on it? I know the s6 is heavier but also has diff gearing. Thanks.

the s6 would smoke a 1.8t if they both had 3071's or similar turbos the 5cyl 2.2l spools a 28rs @ 2800rpm and a 3071 @ 3800rpm. The AAN is the best engine audi ever built. My friends both have mint URS4's with MTM Stg2 software and drilled wastegates on the K26 and make 39psi and the car flies

I would get the s6 if it's in nice condition, something about that car makes me love it. The inline 5 is an amazing engine and can make good power. They are not common either which makes it unique to own one.

Excellent info audiracer. Keep the info coming. How's the s6 vs the elim 2871 just w/mtm? You probably beat them to 100 and the gap shrinks?

i raced my friend with his mtm chip when i had my k04 and we were pretty much dead even at 100-120 he started to pull a little and then we shut it down. ive never ran my friend with the mtm stg2 and drilled wastegate

it will never fit the engine is way too long you will need some serious modification to get it to fit

Yes it has been done, a company did that setup for the Pikes Peak event. Just do a search and you will find it, IIRC it is an audi dealer in CO. It has been posted about plenty of times on this site.

    here it is, 1997 A4 with a 2.3 liter 5 cylinder

javad at 034 runs 40+ on his 80. I have been running 32psi on my built 1.8t block and plan on pushing that closer to 40psi soon

    Re: aan vs aeb

it's pretty much a difference of 300awhp capability. and 400awhp capability.. it's a no brainer in my book. the older S6 doesn't have as nice of an interior. but if it's been taken care of, i wouldn't care..

and of coarse people have put the I5 in B5's.. but like said. serious firewall reconstruction needs to take place. a VR6 block is actually shorter in length than the AAN I5. so with the VR6 conversion out now. there is no need for the AAN in any B5/6 chassis. the VR6 block is shorter(thus easier to fit in), cheaper, easier to find, less expensive, and will still make gobs of power

Sounds like s6 ftw to me.
I do alot of highway driving and like the long pulls of the s6.
I'm going to try to keep the b5 with it's light mod for dd and drive whichever one
is running if one is down. I wouldn't waste the time putting an aan in a b5 considering how much 2ptzero makes. I was hoping someone could give me the driver's impression of the two.

    Re: aan vs aeb

looked into that and I love the idea but
seems otd will be close to 7g to do it for similar power with realistic boost levels (not 40lbs) vs bolt ons with good software on the s6
