As many of you know, a few weeks ago I bought what was supposed to be an OEM B7 A4 Sport Suspension. From the research I did, it sounded like the new suspension would fit on the car very easily as long as the right parts were sent with it. (i.e. bump stops/shocks/struts/springs/etc...) I had my mechanic try to put this suspension on my car last week. He found that he couldn't get it to fit. He said the sport springs were much wider at the top than the stock springs. That means the the spring plate, which goes on the top and bottom of each spring to hold it in place was too small for the new springs.
After a little bit of research we found one of two things...one, Audi changed their spring design during the 2007 model year. This suspension is off an 06 A4 Quattro...
Or, it's not an A4 suspension at all. I've seen the diagrams of the A4 suspension and the A3 suspension. The springs that came with what I bought look like A3 springs. Not A4 springs. I've attached 3 diagrams, and the picture of my stock spring, next to the sport spring (The stock is on the bottom) The first diagram is an A4, the second an A3, the third is a TT.
Could someone please help me out here. I'd like to find out what this is, that way I may be able to sell the whole thing, since I can't use it.
Also, I tried looking up the part numbers on the front and rear shocks/struts, however the sticker was so faded, that the numbers could not be read.
Thanks in Advance!
~Eddie
