    Snub mount failure symptoms?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
From the searched forums, sounds like ppl usually complain about a "thud" when shifting gears.

Does a cracked/failed snub mount contribute to any lurching during accelerating, and letting off the throttle?

As a side, will a failing/failed N75 cause lurching or bumpy accleration?

Sorry for all the questions at this hour, haha.

If shifts are clunky and on/off throttle causes the car to jerk more than normal...its a bad snub.

If you experience jerky acceleration in a given gear, as in boost is surging on/off/on/off when you hold the throttle constant...your N75 is going bad.

Check out Apikol. They make a snub now, and it is about 2/3 the price of the APR snub. Check it.

Look at the snub, you can tell if its shot just by looking at it

Stock motor mounts will put more stress on the snub as the motor moves more. Stiffer mounts = less stress on the snub

Yup see I was running stock motor mounts when I went 3+ and thats when my issues started so I installed the 034 motor mounts, and it was better, but the cracked snub was the problem.

I just ordered the 034 snub mount and high density tranny mount.

    Re: Snub mount failure symptoms?

Is it reccommended to replace all engine mounts at the same time? (snub, tranny, motor, am I missing any?)

I'm sure there is a point where the snub mount can be too stiff and cause adverse affects.

    What are these risks?

    Re: Snub mount failure symptoms?

Update: continuing to try to find the reason for my surging issues accelerating
Note: this happens on slow acceleration MORE than on WOT, around 2.5-3k rpm, especially 1st and 2nd gear.

Fixes tried: NGK Coppers (6s) at 0.30 gap, APR Snub, Cleaned/lubed Bov/Dv, cleaned injectors, advised not the N75.

What's next?: I'm thinking the turbo intake pipe or going to a 1+
