I'm thinking of getting a carbon fiber hood from Eurogear. Is it necessary to use the hoodpins also?

It's a good idea if you like driving over 65mph. The Aero Catch hood pins are a good way to go, for both safety and aesthetic reasons.

^ Not from audi specific experience, but a lot dont come with factory hood closure attachment points, and/or some lower end ones can break loose from the factory hood attachment point. My friends bodyshop had a client come in with a broken windshield and cf hood on his IS300. He didnt have hood pins and the factory hood latch ripped from the mounting points on the highway and the hood pretty much kissed his roof.

hahaha, I LOVE constructive criticism! If it makes you feel any better the stickers are gone... I've been thinking about getting a regular CF Hood as well, fully painted. I agree with you, in my old age it's getting a little too ricer for me...
