    Rare Interior/Exter Color Combination?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Over the past 3 weeks I have been looking to buy a 2000-2002 b5 S4 and have my mind set on waiting till I find the perfect car. The perfect car for me has the Black exterior and the Alcantera Black/white leather interior pictured here:

Now over my past 3 weeks search I have found 1 S4 that matches this criteria in the vicinity around me. Unfortunately, that one had way to many miles. Basically, I hate the wood trim on the onyx black interior. I have found plenty of silver S4s with this interior but virtually never a black one. What I want to know is, is this black/with black-white interior combination VERY rare, or is it just a coincidence that when I enter the market there aren't any up for sale right now. This has really been bugging me.

It's not the easiest to find with the sport package. My fellow MOD Imperial has that exact combo. He's a lucky bastid.

It is a relatively rare combination indeed. I got really lucky to find my black with black/silver interior. I wouldn't have gotten one if it didn't have that. It's just WAY too stylish not get. Keep lookin, Delta, you're bound to find one

btw - thanks for the props, guys

Nah, I'm a fan of my car at the moment. You can have a ride in it, though, if you'd like

Similar situation here...My preference is actually towards the blue alcantara/ blk leather interior. I've never been a fan of wood trim either. I've been searching for about a month now and have only found one car that meets my criteria, but with the white alcantara combo that your're looking for. I believe the seller was local to the bay area and the car was an 01 with ~47k mi. I can try and dig up the info if you like.

Believe me i've done a great deal of searching both web and print sources and it seems the majority of those ppl who chose the alcantara sport interiors aren't letting go of those cars.

As far as color combo popularity here's what i've found in order of popularity on the used market:

With the white alcantara sport interior it seems the exterior color is usually silver, white, black

With the blue alcantara sport interior it seems the exterior color is either nogaro, santorin blue, or black.

Finding any other exterior color with the alcantara sport interior is probably extremely rare, if it was even available from the factory. I'm not positive whether someone could have ordered lets say the blue alcantara with lets say the imola yellow exterior color.

I'm really looking out for something with at least 10-15k less miles than that. I dont mind being patient for the right car to pop up on the market and if you're not in a rush I'm sure you'll find exactly what you're looking for. At the moment I'm not in a hurry to buy, unless I come across the right car, or my job req's the immediate purchase of one for commuting. (Of course I plan to take the car out for spirited drives and mtn bike trips on the weekend so all that potential wont be going unused )

FYI...this is what im lookin out for....

MY2001 Audi s4 with less than 50k miles. I may consider 00's with low miles if you have taken care of all common warranty issues in a timely manner.

    Black, Blue, Silver, or White
with the sport interior (I prefer silver or cf accents, NOT the wood, but of course this is a minor cosmetic issue and I guess wouldnt mind resorting to painting over the wood trim if I found the right car)

Two-tone seats with blue alcantara/black leather, however I would settle for the white alcantara/black leather combo if everything about the car is spot on. As a last resort black leather, or grey leather... in that order.

Other than the two tone seats I am pefectly happy with the basic options and not really that concerned in cold weather pkg, navi, etc

I really would prefer NO MODS, but if your car has been WELL cared for I might consider it....

Anyways good luck finding the car you're looking for.

leave ya with a pic of my fav...sexy isnt it, haha...

Ok,, first Audi calls it Silver alcantara, not white. The colors combos are as follows.

Blu/Blk sport interior was available with Nogaro, Santorin, Black and Pearl White.

The Silver/Blk interior was available with any exterior color including the above colors.

I wouldn't say that the ones with sport interior are rare, the S4 is a rare car to begin with. Then yes most of the people with sport interior orderd their cars and are not parting with them. Most dealer orders for a showroom car or such, would have the all Black interior or all Silver interior with wood trim.

The rarest color combo of them all would be Pearl White with Blu/Blk interior, I have never seen one. But know it was orderable. I don't like the Santorin with Blu interior it just doesn't seem to go right, but it is also quite rare. The Nogaro with Blu interior is probably the least rare. But I would really like to have a Black S4 Avant with Blu/Blk interior. My Santorin sedan with Sil/Blk interior is nice though. I bought it new but it was too late to order one the way I wanted it,, so I had to locate and deal with what was out there.

    Hi all,

New to the forum, I was looking for that combo but after a month I could not locate a "nice" S4 with it so I ended up with a black leather interior. Got my S4 last Wednesday. Great car!!

Yeah, Audi did call it "silver alcantara" but it definitely looks more off-white to me, heh.

Marc G - welcome to the forums and congratulations on your new car

Wow you have the exact color combo that I want. *drool* Only I'm looking for a manual stage 3 car.

I just totaled a nogaro with black/blue interior and for my next car I really don't want to go as flashy.
I would like a black white interior and my exterior color choices would be number one santorin, number two black, and number three silver.
Being really anal about car care and having a dark purple BMW prior to the Audi I know silver would be my best real world choice, I'd never want to drive the other two. I'm also getting a nice deal on a silver s4.

oh ok good. I guess I didnt read that part. Was feelin' kinda bad. I didn't use to want silver, but the A4 I have is black and beautiful, but I'm ready for a new color. My biggest dilema now is what wheels to put on the silver S4.

Don't let the belt line trim colour put you off, it's easily replaced.

You could also pull it and easily repaint it silver or black too

true, but i also love the two tone seats, very sporty, and the chrome mirrors. just two extra touches to make the car stand apart from an A4 (to novices, and women).

Those are all cool, but I like mine a lot and probably wouldnt trade it for alcantara unless the blue matched the santorin better and it was in perfect shape.

I personally am biased towards Santorin w/ onyx leather/silver alcantara... Definitely a rare color combo.

I hear you, I never understoff why AoA decided on wood for the S4, it belongs on an old mans car.

I've heard Clairparts mentioned quite a bit for trim, either them or www.vagparts.com

I love my wood trim, it gives it that expensive look. IMO the silver looks cheaper. I wouldnt swap mine for silver, just piano or CF. It might just be because I have silver interior and it looks better than on black, I too agree that wood/black or alcantara looks a bit out dated.
