Thank you for the leather info!

Yeah my plan is to change pads once these wear down to needing replacement. Can't justify it until they're ready to go. I won't be cleaning the wheels so frequently to drive me crazy but I'll be doing it more than I currently have (almost never haha)

    Update:

Sonax Spray and Seal being used to maintain a ceramic coated vehicle.

Using Sonax Spray and Seal for maintenance on a coated Lamborghini Huracan

This Lamborghini Huracan was coated about 6 months ago with a ceramic coating, we wanted to test out the ability of the Sonax Spray and Seal and the effects of it over the coating. We are happy to report that it worked extremely well. Sonax Spray and Seal was compatible and showed no issues or side effects with the ceramic coating. We would recommend it as a maintenance product over your cars protected with ceramic coating.
    Hey Phil, great video!

This Sonax spray and seal.....I noticed you never had to wipe it on than buff off. Is that true or was that just a fancy video edit?

Would you recommend the Somax Spray and Seal as a quick detailer or just after a wash?

What is a safe quick detailer that can be used over a ceramic coating that you’d recommend?

    Thanks in advance!

You would still need to dry the car completely. So yes when you check out the video there are drying towels to buff off the rest of the left over Spray and Seal

This one might be a better question for you versus the simple ones I can probably look up:

A rubber shoe sole scuffed my paint. It looks like it transferred some black rubber to the paint or scuffed it like a black rubber sole would scuff a basketball court.

Best recommendation for cleaning that up?

A good light polish or clay bar should work

I have a white car with visible fallout showing all over the body panels. On the lower doors / rocker panels, there is PPF that also has fallout on it. Can I use fallout remover on the PPF without damaging it? Or should I be using clay bar or something?

Now that my summer wheels are off I want to see if I can get stains off the Rotors - I have similiar stains like these mentioned in this post - https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...ains-on-wheels

What Pads /wax might one recommend to use on my Griots Garage 6 Inch Random Orbital Polisher which I run this with 5" plate?

by rotors you mean your factory 5 spokes? if so then yes you might want to try to polish or if needed compound then polish them out....curious what wheel cleaner are you using it looks like they have already been damaged a bit from either a wheel cleaner or lack of care.

Question regarding wheel wax on polished lips with clear coat centers.

I have a set of ccw wheels with polished lip and clear coat centers and want to protect them during the winter rainy/snowy months.. Is there a wax that can be used on polished lips? Also what about the center clear coat?
    Thanks

Hello. My brake calipers were factory painted black, but now they are 'ashy' looking...almost gray. I'm not sure how the first owner maintained them, but it looks like they may have left some wheel cleaner on for too long. Is there a way I can restore the color and sheen of the calipers without having them repainted? Thanks!

Best way to remove that weird film/residue on the windshield leftover from wax, rainx, etc? I've read dish soap, isopropyl alcohol, water/vinegar mix, DA/m105, etc.

I am planning to have a ceramic coating applied to my car by a detail shop. I have narrowed it down to 2 options: Opti-Coat pro Plus ($1,400) or Ceramic Pro 9H ($1,200). My car is a a white B8.5 S4 and the paint is in pretty good condition, some small swirl marks here and there. I am looking to have the car feel smooth and waxy for the longest period of time with a deep shine. Which option should i go with?

    Hey Phil,

Quick question that I;m sure has been asked before but couldn't find any answers when I searched. I have a fair amount of polishes (1Z Polish Wax, Menzerna Super Finish etc.) and waxes (Collonite 845, Jescar PowerLock) that I haven't even opened and haven't had a chance to use. What's the shelf life on this stuff? Is 5 year old Polish wax and others still OK to use if it's unopened? If it's been opened I would assume it will dry out and be unusable. What's the rule of thumb?

go with the 1 that will give you the longest protection for the price. The better you maintain it the longer and better it will perform.

Quick question. I have Menzerna 3in1 which says it includes a wax. I'd like to top it with Power Lock plus, however I'm not sure if I should be wiping down the 3in1 with IPA or eraser before the Power lock.

And if I should be, does that negate the reason for using the 3in1 and maybe I should use something else.

    Thanks

The protection part of the 3in1 is a carnauba wax, which you'd generally want over a sealant... not under.

A few years ago I had the same question for Phil. I had 1Z polish wax (2 in 1) that I wanted to try but wanted to apply Power Lock over top. Phil gave the same response that you should really put a wax over a sealant, but said to give it a go and see what happens. I did. I think there was only a minimal amount of wax left from the polish and when I put the Power lock over it, it had an amazing mirror gloss that I wasn't expecting. Additionally, this amazing finish lasted for a very long time.....easily 6-8 months, I didn't have to touch it other than a rinse. It worked out really well. Your results may vary.

Very interesting and good info. We have two vehicles. One an Audi and one a Jeep. I might try the traditional (polish, seal, wax) on the Audi and try the 3in1 topped with power lock plus on the Jeep. Not a super fair apples to apples comparison, but would be interesting to try.

    Thanks for the info.

Sure you can go over the 3 in 1 with Power Lock. The wax part of the 3 in 1 won't last too long. If you wipe down with IPA plan on the wax to have less protection as you will be taking some if not all of it off.

Would you suggest doing an IPA wipe? or layering? My thoughts were that because one is a Menzerna product and the other is a very close relative of a Menzera product that they might play nice together.

the protective component of the 3 in 1 is less durable than the Power Lock, if you do an ipa it will probably remove some of the protection. The power lock will last longer than the wax, so if the wax is the base layer and it will be less durable you may not achieve what you are looking for which if I'm reading this correct is what you are looking for.

you may want to polish than seal than wax

    hey phil,

was hoping you might be able to recommend a product for the interior plastics/dash. i've been using finish kare's 180 top kote anti-static pro for about a decade. i like the controlled/matte shine and anti-static properties. anything new worth trying?

if it's scratched it will need to be fixed/restored with an upholstery repair shop. products will only hide it but it will come back.
