Try kicking up the treble too, hey it's not the loudest/clearest sound system out there but for a completely stock version it does deliver.

buy a kicker 15 inch subwoofer. get about 1000 watts of amplification running to it. and keep that shit at 0... nothing more to ask for right there

15 inch? I've heard many reports that 10" is more than enough for an aftermarket sub.

^ That really depends on if you want your bass to blend in perfectly or slap you in the back.

The bigger the sub the deeper it goes, and the slower it reacts...making it boomier rather than tight and punchy.

What is best is completely personal preference.

I have my Bass, Mid, and Treble all at +6 and it sounds good and clear. Plus i tuned my settings to every speaker to +9 instead of +5. Our systems still need a lil more bass and a 10 sub pushing 150-200watts can fix that. My friend as a 12in pushing 300watts and its perfect IMO...

If your speakers are distorted, they are blown. That, or you're volume level is at 25+

I think the sub that comes with the Bose package is fine. It provides enough bass to sound "decent" but nothing like an aftermarket sub obviously.
