SD Cards for Audi Navigation Plus

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
For anyone who has the Audi Navigation Plus radio in their cars.....

As i would expect, everybody loves to use the SD cards for music in their cars, just as I do. I have always used Sandisk cards that have never exceeded the capacity of 2.0 GB. Recently I bought a 4.0 GB Card that says "SDHC" on it. I believe it stands for (sanDiskHighCapacity). To get to the point; when i upload my music onto it the same way I did on the 2.0 GB cards, it will not play in my car. The screen reads "Card Empty" Does anybody know the solution to this problem or has had this problem in the past? There is also the occasional song or folder that does not play in the car (using the 2.0 GB cards I usually use)

    Looking forward to any answers....

I'm almost positive that you can't use SDHC cards, just SD cards. There are 4GB SD cards out there.

What type of files are they saved as? itunes' default setting is to save imported files as .aaf or some other proprietary extension. Find the library on your drive where itunes saves the files you import to see what their extension is. If they aren't .mp3, convert them to .mp3 with itunes and change the setting to have all future imported files saved as .mp3.

Re: SD Cards for Audi Navigation Plus

i had to burn them as audio disc then rip them as MP3. There is a crack utility as well to remove DRM from m4p files to m4a...so i've heard.

There are ways to get around that, but they're not legal. It has to do with cracking DRM.

Re: SD Cards for Audi Navigation Plus

If you downloaded them from iTunes they are protected songs. If you rip your music from CDs directly to MP3, iTunes will still use them, but you can copy them other places and use them if you want.

And has been pointed out, SDHC and SD are two different formats and many devices can not read the HC cards.

    A 2013 A4 is NOT a B7, it's a B8 which has a completely different system.

In a B7 A4/S4/RS4 (which has RNS-E not MMI) you CANNOT use SDHC cards, only SD cards - unless you have replaced the factory fitted RNS-E with a later 2010+ version (which CAN use SDHC cards).

As previously stated, they won't read SDHC cards.
I purchased the SEAT updated system (2012) which has the LED screen and 2x32Gb SD slots.
