Has anyone swapped a dash ?

has anyone successfully swapped the dash in our car. I really want a black interior, the only thing holding me back is the dash

Don't do it... It will always rattle and is more of a PITA then it's worth. This goes under the fact "buy a car with black interior" over spending the money to get it done right.

But to answer your question... Somebody removed every panel of there B6A4 and had the leather painted light orange (professional leather paint (stain) of course) which was pretty cool. I forget his name though.

Another thing to research... all leather is painted/stained... Possibly remove your dash, and have it painted/stained black?

i'd even be down with a "black with platinum highlights" thing.. but the all plat. is starting to bug me

So no one has ever swapped it out or removed it atleast, because i need to replace mine in the future because i bought my car salvage and it had blown air bags so i need to replace it.

Haven't swapped one out, but it wouldn't be that difficult. Of course, you'd have to dismantle the entire interior around it, but if you are changing the interior to black anyway, that won't be a problem. Dashboards can be a bit expensive though. You may want to look into dying it black. I've used SEM vinyl dye on BMW dashboards and other parts before, with excellent results. It's not a paint, so it actually absorbs into the dashboard. Won't scratch off or rub. You can actually do it in the car too. Pull your surrounding trim and panels, mask your guage cluster or remove it, same with steering wheel. Then slide some masking paper (newspapers, butcher paper, etc.) down in front to block the inside of the windshield. I would recommend removing the vents as well. Spray a few coats with ample time to set between them, maybe an hour or so, and let it absorb in. It would be a hell of a lot easier to remove the dash, but I'm not sure if that's in the service manual or the Bentley.
