    EPC light

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I was out cruising yesterday when all of a sudden if felt like there was no throttle response (like the gas was cut off) and the EPC light came on. I pulled over, waited a min and then started it back up and it worked fine. Happened about 10 mins later, same thing. Started it back up and was good after that. It only happened when the cruise control was on, going up a hill. I'm getting it scanned tomorrow but I thought someone might have had the same issues before.

I have it too, after getting my giac chip and putting a heavier spring in the DV to hold the boost. Im interested in what codes it throws as well.

i should make mention that the light turned off after i re-started the car both times so it's not always on..

    Re: EPC light

yes same instance, drive by wire pedal does nothing the car just idles, then i turn it off, start it up, the light goes off, and it drives fine until it happens again. the light is only on for the time between when the pedal cuts out and i restart the engine.

    Re: EPC light

The EPC light indicates a malfunction NOT related to emissions, such as a faulty throttlebody. The notorious CEL occurs when there is an emissions problem, such as misfires. The codes should tell you what's wrong.

    Re: EPC light

"max torque limit" as in the cars literal torque output? or something else. Mine usually gets tripped during what feels like a boost spike. I just met a kid here at school that has vag com and offered to scan it for me this weekend so I'll see what mine throws too.

has any one found a way to fix this? had the same exact problem on my dads TT 225 when it was GIAC flashed... we replaced the throttle body like AWE suggested and it still didn't work. so we had them flash it back to stock. So anyone figure it out?

    Re: EPC light

I'd look at that O2 sensor and your plugs before you start changing too much.

You've got misfires and an O2 sensor that the ecu says isn't working. Your fueling might be jacked because of that.

    Re: EPC light

After many conversations between my mechanic and AWE who did the flash on my dad's TT, they say they have come up with a solution. Apparently some rubber hose was collapsing (I'm guessing TIP) under the higher boost and they are now sending with a reinforced version of the hose. I'll update you guys tomorrow and let you know for sure what the hose is.

Yes definitely let us know what hose it is before I go hacking up my vacuum lines. Is this new reinforced hose free of charge from AWE by the way? Because my tune is from them too.

    Re: EPC light

I'll be sure to update tomorrow after i talk to my mechanic more in depth. I'm not sure if the upgrade is free, that would be something you would have to contact AWE for. I wouldn't know since we decided to move on to APR do to some of the customer service we received from AWE.

I was right, it's the TIP. I don't think AWE will give you a free upgrade, we are still actually having problems with them.
