Yeah that should do fine. for the number plate lights any size range from 36-39mm should fit.

Re: What bulb type is the license plate light?

He probably had a short. My LEDs run much cooler than the bulbs they replaced. And as panameras said, anything in the range of 36-39mm should work, and I think it is actually better to err on the side of too large because they will stay in place better. Mine were a little short, and I had to bend the holders and use a little solder to get them to stay in place firmly.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, white LEDs look sick on the license plate! I don't know if you seen the plate lights on the new Lexus ISs, but they look just like those. Here's a bad pic. of mine:

TSlice, from my other thread I undertand you don't get a bulb out warning for having LED license plate lights. Is that true? You see, I have red display as well but I get a dash warning light every time I put it into Drive (Tiptronic)! It's a little frustrating. Do you know what kind of resistor to use?

Correct, I don't have the bulb-out error on my red DIS. I don't know what to tell you since all I did was a direct swap with no resistors of any kind. If you knew the wattage of the bulb, you could pretty easily figure out what size resistor to use. Do you have the trip computer? My car doesn't have the trip computer; I don't have the little button on the end of the wiper stalk that lets me see my MPG and other information on the DIS. Could this have something to do with it? I noticed that when running VAG-COM, I do have an error code stored -- something along the lines of: "license plate light short to B+ or bulb out." So the car definitely knows the problem is there. I'm guessing it has something to do with the trip computer, but like I said, you could pretty easily add a resistor and get rid of the warning, and since both bulbs are on the same circuit, one resistor with the correct value for two bulbs would work and make everything a little easier. Hope this helps...

Don't know for sure, but I would assume they are. It's very easy to check, just grab a philips-head screwdriver.
