Different offset in front vs. rear...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I know people have made comments about running a staggered set up with Quattro cars - different size wheel in the front vs. the back.

Does the same theory hold true with running a different offset in the front vs. the rear while maintaing the same size wheel and tire combination all the way around?

Sigh, it wasn't even replied to because of how dumb the fucking question is.

But to answer your question, offset wont affect anything except
How well the wheels fit inside the fender, if you have stock suspension. Anything between ET45 and ET30 is pretty safe territory
    You will
    Only truely
Know what size spacer you want when you lower your car and then get the wheels you want.
Measure your gap and get the appropriate spacers.

    Think about offset, and
Then try to think of a reason it
    Would affect any system
On the car if the tires are
    All the same
    Dimension......

Was about to say exactly that.

Shane should be able to lock threads after answering them.

    Long story short

Lower offset = more aggressive, pushed out further from your fender wall.
If you were to get a different offset for the front and back, the only difference would be its pushed out a little more.

Useless in my opinion. You can get the exact same result with spacers - with the option of rotating tires whenever you wanted to.

    Don't over complicate things.

But will this affect how long it takes me to go 80 miles at 80 mph?
Expenses in F1 have gone down since the 1960s because teams don't need an extra pit crew to help the driver carry around his balls when he is not in the car.

As said above, different offsets do not matter, as long as the overall circumference of the tires are the same. I think there's a window of +/- 5%.

to give him credit, he has only been a member for 10 days, and he used the search function rather than starting a thread.

Exactly why I answered his question, and only made a comment about the OP.

The OP had almost been a
Member for a year before asking a pretty dumb question, let's be honest, and I was merely stating why nobody in 5 years even bothered to respond
