What does the ECON button do? Pic Inside.

I always wondered what this button did. Nothing seems to happen when pressed, Anybody know?

Its the button below the Recirculate button. "ECON"

Turns off the A/C

it puts the car in "economical mode" which only runs it on 4 cyl and turns the turbo off..

ahh yes those buttons are located on the door armrest just below your mirror controls. theres is also a button there to lock out the rear vents.

seriously tho - my Golf had the 'pass through vents' option without the fan on. How come the Audi doesnt?

it's only on the A4 avant . . . the golf/gti is a hatchback like the A3, hence it has one

It's true... the aerodynamics of the sedan gets rid of the turbulence that exists behind the rear window of the avant (or anything that has a flat back for that matter). Hence no need for a wiper to wipe off that dirty water flying back at the rear window.
