What to check before the warranty expires?

My 2004 S4 warranty expires in 3 months.

As I take it into the Dealer is there anything specific to ask to get done?

Even little things like the crappy plastic they used on the interior trim (already replaced my radio)- the drivers door handle is looking pretty grim as well from the de-lamination of the plastic ...

Advice welcomed!

Unfortunately in Canada Audi does not offer an extended warranty :(

check for oil around valve covers. there is a TSB on this, pretty common.

check for noise at low rpm when cold and get the TSB done on the ribbed belt tensioner and rollers

You should also check the A/C system. I just took my car in to have the condenser replaced, and I was told by my service advisor that it's been a pretty regular item to replace on B6 S4s.

^^^does the condenser issue relate to having a bad smell when you first turn on the AC in heat? I know it's always a good idea to shut off the AC and circulate just the fan before shutting th car off, but c'mon, who really does it?

I've never had this with other cars to the degree with my S4 and wondering if the condensation is excessive.

The windshield fogs very quickly on a hot day with the AC cranked.

After a while it blows ice as well.

I just figured the Germans didn't do A/C very well!

in canada you can definetly get extended warranty....as long as the car is CPO'ed
mine isnt but if you have friends at the dealer(s) there are always ways

I wont even bother though since the extended warranties are way too expensive for what is offered....

Audi tells me its a 3rd party - not associated with VW.

well that is another type of warranty....technically the PRE-OWNED audi vehicles can be bought with an extended audi canada warranty. But if the car was purchased from an independant dealer it will be a 3rd party warranty (which is absolute BS and i do not recommend) although some audi dealers can sell you a third party warranty but dont bother the 3rd party warranties are very hard to get any work done from them.

Piss poor policy though for someone dedicated to the brand.

Maybe I should change my handle to "Audi Advocate until they screwed me at the end of the lease"!

nah! Audi is great and i have nothing but great things to say about them. In a way i just justify not having to buy the extended warranty! although my car is not CP'oed so its not an option anyways!
