Good Audi mechanic in NJ?

Anyone please let me know, I'm in Hoboken.
My dealer is telling me that the timing belt needs to be replaced soon.
I'm there now getting 80K service done.
I have an extended warranty, Audi Pure Protection till 100K but the advisor is telling me it wont be covered because it is "preventative maintenence".
So it's only covered when it actually breaks?? wtf?

I dont understand why they cant just call up and say its actually broke or something. Its not like I have to send the part to the warranty place.
Anyone willing to AT LEAST confirm with my warranty before any major parts are replaced would be preferred. At least make the effort, dont just say "they wont cover it".

This advisor just says they are closed on Saturday and this aint covered, when in fact at my previous scheduled maintenences (of which I only go on Saturday), the advisor called them and got the go-ahead to repair.

they will not cover it =) I went through the same 2 weeks ago and ended up going to kmd, they charge 750.00, a lot of people are going to tell you to do it yourself but it takes a lot of time and patiente. quattrohous chgarges 950. riverside audi $1500 belt and pump, and the one in englewood charges around 1400

I was wondering about KMD, $750 seems reasonable for parts and labor. Now I don't have to ask them.

judahbenhur, Dan's looks like a great option. What did they charge you? If I mention the add on their site it's 10% off the 1st service, too. That will come in handy for a timing belt job! Did you have any other work done there?

I'm out of town right now but i let you know what I paid when I get back on Tuesday night....gotta check the receipt..I also had a few of the control arms done..

payed 230 for labor on timing belt and water pump down at school, VA. Pretty crazy how they charge you almost 3 times more here in jerz

its actually not that hard to do ive done 3 on vws and 1 on my own audi and i am going to be doing surferforevers in like a week if youlike i may be able to get urs done for you in the next few weeks
