    H-Sport Sway Bars

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey Guys..

I am going to Waterfest this weekend and get the Revo chip.

I am also thinking about H-Sport Sway Bars. I heard they have 20% discount. I thought after getting the extra HP I need that stability...

How easy is it to install??? Local Audi shop said $300 - $350.00 to install it .. (I think he is playing me)..Is there any other sway bars out there for 03 A6..

    Any thoughts??

H-sport is the best. There is a thread in audiDIY on how to install those. Pretty east especially front. Back alittle taxing ], but if you're handy it's no biggie.

Very easy to do yourself, as long as you have the right tools, including ramps (since these must be installed under load, not on a lift with wheels dangling).

Here is a comprehensive writeup on the install process:

Love my Hsport sways, probably my top 2 mod after chip!
Labor is a pain, Audi is expensive, find a smal Audi shop. I think I paid 200-250 for the install

    Re: H-Sport Sway Bars

I have these, and IMHO the absolute BEST bang-for-the-buck mod for the car hands down!!! Really flattens the corners, and makes the car a much better performer.

The DIY article is pretty detailed, if you have an extra set of hands, it helps (especially with the exhaust). However, if you do not want to tackle it yourself, should be about 2-3 hours of labor for an indy shop. Just make sure they do nto install either bar upside down (it has happened), they use threadlock on the front bar's bolts, and know how/where to trim the bellypan for the thicker bar.

Unfortunately, they ONLY come as a set, you cannot buy the rear only. H&R offers a rear sway seperately, but not as many use that bar (just not marketed as much?).

Too bad about the H-sports, but you can just buy them on-line from Pure Motorsports (linky here). A pretty good price for these, I think you can find others with slightly lower prices, but this guy is reputable!

    Re: H-Sport Sway Bars

Great improvement...HIGHLY recommend them, and go the "stiff" setting if you do.

The install was a piece of cake. THe hardest part might be getting a socket on teh tops of the front control arm links. THe rears weren;'t any harder, despite all the talk. However, I did scratch the rear bar up getting it in place. But who cares.

Make sure you use ramps, and make sure you torque to specs, using lots of blue threadlocker on the front bar ends. I used a jack to lower the exhaust at the "Y", and silocone spray to wiggle to rubber hangers off/on. worked well.
