Car PC Suggestions? RoadRunner & GPS-FreeDrive?

Okay guys well, quick question. I am getting an 8" Touchscreen VGA Monitor, and would like to know if I should just use my Apple laptop as the source, or should I build a cheap mini pc. I was thinking of putting my macbook, in a secure place were I can just put in the mini dvi, and it will be nice. Such as the glovebox or something, and have like a secure mount or something.

The reason I would do that is becuase, My macbook, will be kinda kool to have in there, SO i can watch dvds, and get gps at the same time. Also bluetooth and etc. ALSO BE ABLE TO DO WINDOWS, and MAC.

SO I can run Roadrunner and freedrive. For those who dont know what roadrunner and freedrive is here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeE_l...elated&search=

If you have dealt with these things before I would like if you can pm me, cause I had a couple of questions? such as power supplies, and shit like that. Also I have some questions on the software also. THX I LOVE

Here is a little Audi skin: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/rr-s...n-preview.html

Taking a laptop in and out is a pain in the ass, itll get old real quick. The only way to power a laptop is with an inverter and you will have to turn on/shut off the computer via the button on the laptop.

If you build a carputer you can buy a power source (Ive got the M2-ATX) which automatically turns the computer on when you start the car and then enables shut down when the key is turned off.

You can try the laptop thing but I can assure you it will get old very quickly!

a company like drivesoft (www.drivesoft.net) sells the entire pc with the option to add satellite radio, nav and so on. or there are other companies that build mini pc's just for cars as well (www.cappuccinopc.com) has pc's with dc power supplies.
