I run 205's on 8.5's but thats not for most people....

Alot depends on the tire, they all strech different. I run Falken 512's and love them. Toyo's strech very well also.

But dont strech for looks, thats dumb. Do it because you need to.

Streching the tires make you not rub. It allows you to push the wheels out without rubbing.

depends what kind of stretched look you are going for.. i suggest you go to vwvortex mkiv forum and check out any thread there...you'll get to see all kinds of stretches.

as for 8.5, you might want to go with 205s to get that nice stretched look. 225 on 8.5 looks like ass imo.. 235 on 8.5 is perfect i think, look below:

you are on the VW Mk1/2 level stretches on your a4 What im on is pretty good for an A4 which is a more conservative car.
