My turbo doesn't whistle anymore...

Sounds more like a gay dude farting... Any idea of what is going on?! I used to sound like a turbo deisel semi truck when taking off and now I hear nothing, not to mention my car is surging under boost! MAF is fine, as with all other sensors... Did my turbo take a shit?! I mean, I am getting almost constant boost but it isn't as high as it should be... Around 15 psi and it should top 20... I have 102k miles and think it is the original turbo! Like I said, under boost it just kinda makes a PPPFFFFFFF sound... Not the old whistle...

you probably have boost leak, i have the same problem. i can really hear it that pressure is getting out. do a boost leak test.

Do you have a CAT? My CAT just died one day - the element had apparently been getting pretty roasted for a while and one day it just broke loose inside the housing and rotated so that the honeycomb was facing the completely wrong direction. It was like a brick rattling around inside, blocking the exit. My exhaust got really muffled and the car wouldn't boost worth a damn. An ATP TP solved this quick...

Nope, no cat... It may be a boost leak... But I fixed the ones I could find the other day. I don't have access to an air compressor but did make a fitting from a can of beans with a air valve on it... Used a portable tire inflator but that didn't work out... I also have good vacuum so it will probably be before the throttle body if I do have a leak...

maybe check your DV for rips/leaks or if it's a piston-type, re-lube it. my Bailey DV went dry and the piston was sticking....sounded like a farting/mooing kind of noise and my boost was all over the place.

Isn't a misfire per VAG logs and it isn't the DV, I tried two others and thought it was originally my SSQV leaking since when I tried to pressure test it, a bit of oil was seeping out of it... So I went to the 710N and it is the same thing...
