    B5 A4 Coilovers?

    I know that this topic has been covered before, and I have searched pretty extensively on AZ and AW.

    I'm looking to upgrade my non-sport suspension for my 1998.5 A4 2.8Q, because I hate how high it sits, and how much body roll I have. (I plan on getting H Sport sways as well).

    This car will most likely not be tracked, but I like to have fun on the twisties on some of the backroads. As for ride comfort I wouldn't like to have that deteriate (sp?) a lot. I hear that some ppl try spring/shock combos, but regret not just doing coilovers so I figure I won't make the same mistake.

    What would be the best coilovers in my situation, and where is the best place to buy from? TY in advance!

    I would agree that with the prices on coilovers having dropped over the years, it only makes sense to spend a few extra hundred $ and get coilovers.

    For what you'll be doing, the STaSIS StreetSport coilovers are really incredible;

    STaSIS StreetSport coilover kit for B5 A4Q; 4 KONI sport dampers; single adjustable (rebound), narrow band; suspension disassembly required for adjustment; silver chromate plated threaded steel damper bodies; height adjustable; 4 progressive rate KONI springs (400lb. front /390lb. rear spring rate); balanced and adjusted on SPA damper dynamometer
    $1095

    Two testimonials from a client with the STaSIS StreetSport's;

    "Prior to having this suspension setup, I used to run H&R ultras which were cool if you wanted to slam your car lower than any other suspension. However, the H&R coilovers provided a very stiff ride w/o dampening adjustability. Regardless, the H&Rs went bad and it was time to replace them. After attending a Matrix Tech Day, and numerous conversations with Jeremy, I decided to go with the STaSIS setup. I have had the suspension for a month now, and am VERY HAPPY with it. The following are just a few reasons I am so satisfied with this product:

    1.) Ride comfort very close to OEM
    2.) Unbelievable handling - I don't take my car to the track, but have heard many people running this suspension setup on the track with great results.
    3.) Provides dampening adjustability
    4.) Provides ride height adjustability
    5.) Great price

    Best regards,
    Dima"

    "The suspension is incredible at maximizing the car's performance, WITHOUT sacrificing ride quality. The STaSIS suspension has enabled me to push my car to the limits, while keeping an OEM like ride. While very reasonably priced in contrast to many competing products, this is a great investment for someone who likes an occasional track day. I highly recommend this suspension setup for everyone...however, am worried that it will be harder to outpace others if they are running the same STaSIS suspension. I guess I'll just have to work on my driving abilities!

    Dima"

    I'm not sure how long he had them for. I believe they were on his A4 when he bought it.

    how about the bilstein pss9 when compared to the stasis street sports? i have heard great reviews about the pss9. however i have also heard that they are uncomfortable for daily driving... so would the pss9 guys enlighten me. because really i have narrowed it down to stasis or bilsteins... and if there isnt much differnece between the two i would rather go with the stasis since they are both well balanced suspension.... so PSS9s or STASIS SS

    We've only used STaSIS coilovers with fantastic feedback as STaSIS does such a great job of setting these up specifically for Audi's.

    PSS9's are a good setup too but unfortunately we don't have any first hand experience with them on the B5's so I can't comment, sorry.
