windows have some sort of anti-jamming device. If it sense that something is getting caught in it while getting rolled up, it will roll back down. Tried it with my arm to verify...good thing I didn't try that on the sunroof because I don't recall it reacting the same way(tried with a rolled up newspaper). In all my previous cars I have not notice such a feature.

this is more of a CYA move on audi's part rather than a feature, but it's cool. i thought this is now a standard safety requirement now as well?

One of my favorites is the ability for the right side mirror to angle down when the car is in reverse. Useful for parallel parking. I have the Technology package (2006) -- I'm not sure what other years/models that feature is available with. You need to make sure that your side window control is set on the right side mirror in order for this to work when in reverse.

Little sun visor above the rear vie mirror

Turn the side mirror switch all the way around and mirrors fold in

Holding the +/- on the gauge cluster will dim/ brighten the gauge lights

Holding the on/off auto dim on the rear view mirror will turn the Direction Indicator on/off

Thats all i can think of right now

i don't think the stock "alarm" have a shock sensor. but it DOES have a sensor that sets it off when someone raises the car (supposedly to steal your rims)

too bad it doesn't go honk honk honk. Instead, it only goes beep beep beep like the lock confirmation beep

with non-boss and nav, you can definitely feel the bass. It's enough to rattle the exterior mirror a bit. I only have the bass knob set to 3 ticks past neutral, and the music wasn't even THAT loud. A car next to me with window down can hear my music, but with window up, i doubt they'll hear anything.

the system actually got a lot better after i retrofitted the rns-e. I'm guessing the better signal processor helps a lot. (this was upgrading from symphony II to rns-e)

You need to have the convenience package (07 and on). I think it was called the technology package prior to 07.

    Here's my contribution:

Hold the "Auto" button on the left side of the AC controls and the left and right temperature settings will become synchronized. Now when you change the temperature setting, both sides are adjusted at the same time. I just discovered this one.

Turn the car off with one of the turn signals on and it activates the parking lights - just on that side of the car, so people can see your car when its parallel parked.

If you don't have the key in the ignition then you only have to push the memory seat button once and it will automatically go to your seat position. If you have the key in the ignition you will have to hold down the seat button to make it go to your position.

What does that third button (bottom one) on the driver's side door panel do? I know the top two are to open the fuel door and trunk.

haha, no prob...I got tired of doing it twice and finally pulled out the manual and actually read for a change!

Does anyone know if the "recirculation" feature on the AC can be left on so that you don't have to turn it back on every time the car is started?

Lots of funky smells in the Miami metropolitan area (garbage, exhaust, sewage)and I always get caught by surprise when it creeps into my car.

the button lowers the sensitivity of the alarms motion sensor - so you activate it when you are transporting your car or on a ferry or something. the alarm wont come on as easily if the car is shaking around

I've also been told that if you have a dog or kids in the car & you lock it, that button will keep the alarm from going off caused by the motion from them.

That would be the interior motion sensor, which was available in the B6 but was cut in the B7.

You need to vag it first...
Then the lock button would close ALL the windows including sunroof.
The unlock would open all 4 windows EXCEPT the sunroof. =)

Re: Things you didnt know about your A4

Here's a good one.... on the steering wheel controls, if you press and hold the track dial, it fast forwards in the track.. and at a faster rate than holding down the forward button on the headunit.... holding down the volume dial doesnt appear to do anything.

another one.... read the manual for full instructions... but if you unlock your door with key fob A, then choose a memory seat position, it saves that position to the fob. do the same with key fob B.... from then on, whenever you unlock your doors with key fob A, it will go to that seat position. if you unlock with the other fob, it will move to the other position...

handy things that i vag'd - windows down with fob (as discussed above), one click unlocks all doors, and set my headlights to European mode - the amber lights only come on when the signal is activated and are off at all other times.

the interior lights are tied to each individual door in some cases, which i think is cool, so for instance, if you open the back right door, the back right footwell light will illuminate (under seat) but the left side will not. very cool.

I think it's because those operations oppose eachother. Econ gets you fresh air from outside without using the A/C, whereas recycle just recycles the air inside the cabin.
