Anyone running/ran 255/40/17 tires?

My BBS' are 17x8" and with 225 tires they have the eurotrash stretched look going on (PS2's)

I saw a friends STI that has 17x8 BBS as well and the 255/40's are perfect with the wheel.

My car is not really low, just H&R sport height.

Anyone got experience with this?

different tires are different sizes. some brand of 235s may be as big as another brands 255. personally, i think with a 8in wide rim, you should do a 235 max.

It really does depend on the brand and model of tire. I had more tire clearance with numerically taller and wider 235/45-17 Pilot Sports than with 225/50-16 Sumitomo HTR Z. The Sumis are just wider regardless of their indicated size. The Pilot Sports did offer a great amount of rim protection. They saved me from really curbing the wheels once.

I've always wanted to run 245/40-17 on 17x8.5 wheels. Tire Rack has the Sumitomo HTR Z for 67 bucks each in that size but they'll probably be too fat to fit. Those tires are sticky as hell too. The 225/50-16 are mounted on stock 16x7 Swings and have serious curb protection.

Here's is a 255 on an 18x9.5...u def won;t fit 255's up front, i had issues with 235's up front, although my car was low at the time
