MPH warning light on dash came on today...What does it mean??

Guys,

I am closing in on 4000 miles on my '07 2.0T with APR 93/100. Today my "MPH" warning light came on plus a very annoying beeping sound. What the heck does this mean? Car is running perfectly...any ideas??

It means that you're about to break 88mph and go back to the future.
Unfortunately the flux capacitor was never included in the B7 making that feature useless.

My advise is to RTFM.

LOL...That's what I figured but it was happening way before time travel speed.

Anyway, I will take a look at the manual later today. The wife is using the car today and called me all freaked out about this light and beeping on her way to work but I really did not know what to tell her.

Tell her to hold the "CHECK" button down until she sees the circle with the line through it. I think that'll work.

Here's a more detailed answer:

"Press the CHECK button for at least 1 second when the vehicle is moving at a speed above 3 MPH. The display will show the warning symbol crossed through to confirm that the speed limit has been cleared"

yeah, thats the solutoin. if you hit one of those buttons when traveling at a set speed, it will set "Speed Warning 1" at that speed, so when u go above it, it will light up....so u can cancel the warning. Speed Warning 2 is at some ridiculous speed and is preset.

Thanks very much guys. I just called her and she already made it to work soo I will have her do it on her way home.

BTW, she was already saying "you see, I told you not to get that chip thingy" (I had originally promised her not to mod this car, but we all know that is just not possible). I had a feeling it was something pretty simple and nothing to do with the programming but honestly had no clue what the heck it was. Glad to know it is a simple fix.

You should have asked us and we would have told you not to tell her about the chip! Then you could avoid baseless conclusions like that one, lol!

My opinion is that the speed warning only activates if you press the check button (or one of those buttons). I know because I played w/the warnings when I first got the car. Recenly I pressed one of those buttons while driving and sure enough I was bothered all the time (everybody drives 90+ MPH right)?

I think she was playing with buttons! Buttons arenâ€™t toys!

lol yeah, first thing I asked was if she touched anything and I did notice a slight hesitation from her before she tried to blame the chip

...soo she's got some explainin' to do.

I originally had not told her about the chip. But I decided to come clean when I slapped the 19's on and dropped it (If figured she would probably notice that)...oh well, you live and learn. Next car, the chip install will go with me to the grave

Don't underestimate women. I went from oem 16" wheels to 18" BBS CH wheels and my gf didn't even notice that. After about 4 days I told her that I changed the wheels and her reply was "Really???".

You can also push the reset button on the wiper stalk twice which will enter the DIS menu and you can set the speed warnings in there to on/off or which speed it comes on at.

you use the same buttons (up, down, enter) you use to look at your MPG, miles till empty, etc... very simple. Explore it.

Honestly though, the day I bought the car I drove it about 400 miles, the next day, I played with every single button. try it.

HA !!!! 6 year old post revival !!! This is exactly what I was looking for ... my manual is on a CD and only works with windows XP ( my A4 is a 2004 ) so I cant look in the manual.
I started getting the #1 MPH flashing above a certain MPH.....after I pushed the CHECK button while driving. I've only had the car for 1 month so I'm still playing with buttons..
