grinding/low oil/pump noise coming from brakes...

sounds like the pump is not pumping any fluid, almost like a mechanical, fluid sounding grinding noise. I have heard this before when my steering pump went almost dry, its sucking for oil and nothing is there. Anyways it only makes this noise when I brake and have the wheels full locked. All oil levels look GOOD. Good this be a cause of bad brake fluid?

damn, I gotta redeem myself now. i was at work, busy when i wrote that post. i was referring to the master or slave cylinder. What it feels like is a loss of pressure almost in the pedal, but i cannot push it to the floor. it almost feel like ABS is kicking in, but I am only going like 1-3 MPH, and again, it is only at full lock. Is there not an ABS pump? I am not sure on how ABS technically works. I am assuming there has to be some type of "pump" device that automatically will engage and disengage the braking force to the wheels.

does it stop when your car is stopped? it's easily possible to engage ABS at low speeds. Just jamming on the brakes will do it, and it could be described as a grinding noise. Try it on low grip surface and higher speeds. If it makes the same noise when you're braking hard its likely just your abs

mm ok I guess I won't be worryting about it. Just never noticed it before, wasn't sure if it was a brake line issue or something like that. I can brake hard on normal ground without getting ABS to take over, but I guess it is likely.
