So it has been really REALLY cold in Chicago for the past few days and I try to let my car warm up for a good 5-10 min and then I'll just ride it slow.. Sometimes when I go around corners or so my brake light indicator on my dash board will flash and will make a beeping noise.. My hand brake is down I just dont know what else it could be..

    What is it guys..

Re: BRAKE LIGHT indicator flashing on dash

Mine dis that too but only a couple times when corning hard and it was always on the same fwy on-ramp. This was when I had new tires up front and my old ones in the rear. Once I got the rears replaced, it never happened again.

I cant say thats where the problem was but its snever happened since.

check your brake fluid- thats what mine was doing when i was low. also was told if rear pads are low your car will use a lot more brake fluid

im still new to these cars but if these cars have a brake fluid sensor, it could be your fluid is low.

Your fluid might just be topped up enough so that under normal driving it doesnt register as low, but when you corner, the movement of the fluid to one of the sides triggers the sensor.

Maybe im right, maybe im wrong...its just a thought...but check the fluid anyway ha, its 2 seconds.

PS i dont have a manual yet, but im hypothesising based on my previous experience with other cars. Im posting here so I can find out too. I know we have a brake pad sensor...not sure about fluid.

That is deff what it is. Top off your brake fluid.

Same exact thing happened to me. I added brake fluid but really my brakes were just shot. You have enough brake fluid in there. Just start planning on some new brakes.

Re: BRAKE LIGHT indicator flashing on dash

i've been having the same problem since the temps dropped below zero. and after the brake light flashes a few times the traction control light comes on. but turning the car off and back on again fixes that. i checked the brake fluid level and its above min, but barely. i haven't had a chance to go get brake fluid yet, but i'm hoping thats the problem?

but the traction control light has came on a few times..should i be worrying about other things now?

Could be your brake reservoir i had the blinking light on my dash too replaced the sensor and then the whole reservoir and it solved the issue.

Had the same issue and it was because of a faulty brake fluid level sensor.
