VAG your car for misfire codes. If you don't have a VAG-COM like me...take a trip to Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts. Of course this will only work if your CEL is on. When i had a coil "on it way" out, but not completely bad, I could clear my code by removing the NEG battery cable and the light wouldn't come back on until a made a run up to the redline. This caused the ignition system to be worked pretty hard and caused the misfire which gave me the code and i was able to have the code pulled by Advance.

Go there.
You'll want the revision "R" coil packs. They're the latest. They all suck, just the R's suck alil less. As you see the hitachi coil packs are availible and they're being experimented with as you may have read on another thread.
The ECU Tuning ones are backordered, but you can take that part number to your dealership and they should have them on hand. That'll save you the hassle of them needing to do a VIN search to find the coilpacks. Buy a set of 4, it's usually cheaper.
Another thing....Copper plugs. They're great, but do go bad quickly. If you have high mileage change to BKR6e's. They're around 2 bucks a plug. That may help your issue as well.
Notice I didn't tell this guy to SEARCH and leave him out to dry.
