    Adding TPMS into a B7

Wondering if it is possible to retrofit, and at what cost?

That's one option that I really wanted, but could not find when I bought my car - seems like few dealers ordered that option.

    Thanks

You can add an aftermarket tpms system from tmtuning....let me know if you're interrested in purchasing one. We (baak2basics) are a U.S. Distributor for tmtuning.

The manual covers all the standard fitments plus every option that can be ordered, with a note by everything that IS an option. That way they can print one manual for each model year, not a different manual for every individual car.

the problem is, a nail can happen anytime and then you can lose a wheel...even if press is checked regularly, which I try to do...

if I can get some info from the dealer I'll post the result

I was interested in getting an aftermarket TPMS but oh man that kit is nuts, I'd starting to second think it now since it requires more work installing it rather than checking my tire pressure once a month.

You may be able to get by with getting the receiver and 5 stems (1 for spare) if you have the RNS-E. I'm not sure what else it will hook into. There are many advantages to the one Skippy_AR posted. The OEM in the RS4 does not provide temp, tell you if it was a sudden loss, which tire, etc... here is a link to the OEM mfg's site

TPMS will be required in all new vehicles that are under 10K lbs starting in Sept.

The TPMS doesn't connect to the RNS-E on the A4/S4/RS4, it's on a different CANbus to the infotainment CANbus that the RNS-E is connected to.

I'm sure the wire is ran in bundles to support TPMS, if you choose to have the option, it's just a matter of knowing which wire to hook up and locate the warning module for the interior of the car, who sells them ... Audi ??

Re: Adding TPMS into a B7

I pulled up some p/n today that I will post in a bit. There is a control module, and antenna, and the 5 transmitters and stems. The MSRP on all the parts is about $1100...also, I dug up a couple of TSB's about problems with the TPMS blocking sat radio and nav, there have been a couple of recalls on this.

It may be more trouble than its worth...

As a matter of policy Audi DO NOT fit the wiring for options that have not been ordered when the car is built ... with 1 exception, AoA fit the sat radio pre-wiring kit.
