    Official Rota Group Buy

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
First I wanted to say thanks to Anthony and Audizine for letting us all get together to get these wheels.

    Official Rota Group Buy

These will be custom made wheels made for Audi/VW fitments. These wheels will be ordered from Rota direct, and take roughly 2-3 months to arrive. We will take a minimum deposit at time of order, with the remainder payable just before we ship out to you. We need 20 wheels of any specific Rota wheel to get the Audi drill outs and offset made.

If you are interested in the GB please post to this thread. If you have questions before committing, please PM me so that we keep this thread clean.

The following wheels already have enough interest to have a Group Buy.

    Formula Mesh (57.1 hb 18x8 ~22lbs)
5x112 35et Royal Steel Grey or Silver (TBD. I hope those interested can agree on one or the other)

    P45F (57.1hb 18x8 ~22lbs)
5x112 48et Gloss Black with a red lip
    (A3/MKV fitment)

Pricing for 4 wheels is $700 for any 17x8 and $750 for any 18x8 +tax (in CA) + shipping.

We have a special going on for the following *(IN STOCK)* wheels.

    Torque (57.1 hb, 17x8 ~18.5lbs)
On a B5 A4, these will clear Alcons and Stoptech. It should fit Brembos
since they're narrower than Alcons, but were not tested.
    5x112 35et Steel Gray
    5x112 35et Hyper Black

    5x100 35et Steel Gray
    5x100 35et Hyper Black

    Tarmac III (57.1 hb, 18x8 ~20lbs)
On a B5 A4, these will clear Alcons, others not yet tested.
    5x112 35et Steel Gray
    5x112 35et Hyper Silver
    5x112 48et Steel Gray

    P45R (57.1 hb, 18x9.5 ~25lbs)
On a B5 A4, these clear Alcons, others not yet tested. Fenders will need to be pulled and rolled.
    5x112 20et Royal Steel Gray

Torques $750 shipped and Tarmac III $800 shipped P45R $975 shipped. For local pick up, (Nor Cal, Bay Area $700, $750 and $900 respectively, +tax). This special price is good until the *(IN STOCK)* wheels are gone.

Wheels that are close to having enough interest:

    P45F (57.1hb 18x8 ~22lbs)
    5x112 35et

    Torque (57.1 hb, 18x8 ~21lbs)
    5x112 35et

    Torque (57.1 hb, 17x8 ~18.5lbs)
    5x112 48et

    P1 (57.1 hb, 18x8 ~19.5lbs)
    5x112 35et

NOTE: If there are other wheels that Rota offers, if you can find 4 people to join you, we can get any Rota wheel in an available size made for the Audi hub bore, bolt pattern, and offset in any available Rota color.

    Re: Official Rota Group Buy

    A few updates:

If you want to buy a 5th wheel, for a spare, etc.

    17" an extra $150
    18" an extra $175

Please let me know how many extra wheels you want. (This price is only good if you purchase a set of 4, and order the extra wheel(s) at the same time.)

Shipping for a set of 4 will be:

    $50 for the West Coast
    $75 for The middle states
    $100 for the East coast

These prices are VERY close to his COST. If you know of a better shipper, let me know.

I finally confirmed that the gloss black/red lip wheels will not have a special adder for the special paint. So ALL of the wheels will be $700 for any 17x8 and $750 for any 18x8 +tax (in CA) + shipping.

I will have PayPal/payment by check this week, so be prepared to send in a deposit this week. The orders for the wheels will be placed no later than early next week.

    : ) Woot! I can't wait for these to get here : )

A lot of PMs just went out, if you don't get instant notification, you might want to check your PM box. (this is the group that has yet to confirm their orders)

Those that have confirmed, will get an email this week with deposit info.

myang, yeah, I'll be using the gmail.

bitterchild.. I'll look into it, but its doubtful.. if you want 3 sets, I'll make it work. of them, only the boost would be avail... it would be 17x8

esss_pho: sorry, no such luck in that size.

avantspeed, yes, I'll have to find a picture.

    PMs replied to.

And a note for all those in on the GB. I met with my guy over the weekend, he was having problems setting up paypal (cause i'm sure thats how most of you want to pay) but he should have it up and going this week. Other than that, we're ready to order : )

Mmmm, the Grid with time attack paint scheme == HOT

Its too bad they don't have a P45F in 8.5"; keeping the outer lip size fixed, could probably be able to get a bit of concave'ness to the spokes at ET 35.

    Re: Official Rota Group Buy

A4kevin: In the tarmac and formula mesh, no... in the P45F, yes. From my records it states that you want the TarmacIII or the formula mesh in 18x8 in the 48et in silver or steel grey. I might have missed this, but we already have the TarmacIII in stock in steel grey, in 18x8, et48 5x112. Let me know if you want them.

Snowboarder: the P45F in the black/red will be first. As there is the most interest in that wheel : ) PM/email is forthcoming. Centercaps, are included. we are working it out still, it will either be the std. Rota center cap which looks like "CF" with the rota logo on it. OR, we might just have it look like CF, with no logo, so that people can opt to get vinyl cut on their own. we're still figuring that out. but there will be a centercap of some sort.

And... HOUSTON... Everything is a go!!!

PayPal account is setup, and you can send in deposits whenever you want. If you feel like paying in full that works too. Although it will require an email to confirm your location and the shipping costs. We're going to keep it simple, western states, $50 to ship, $75 for the states in the middle, and $100 for the Eastern ones. : ) As soon we we get the first couple of deposits, or a full payment for even 1 set, we'll place the call to order the whole run of that model/color/offset.

    Re: Official Rota Group Buy

I just saw this thread. Those mesh wheels look kinda cool, so do the torque. Question, is it too late to jump in on this or are you still taking orders?

Those of you worried about factory lugs, Audi OE lugs are indeed ball seated. You'll need to get cone (aka tapered) seated lug bolts with the following specs: 14x1.5 27mm. Let me know if I'm wrong..

Pic of OE lug bolts (ball-seated): here

Pic of cone-seated bolts to work with Rota wheels: here

I contacted some tuner shops and they recommended converting the current OE bolts to studs -- so instead of using lug bolts to attach to the rotor, install studs so you can just use aftermarket lug nuts. More selection I suppose.

Delux, still taking orders. PM me.

    PMs replied to.

Ohhh and to clarify. The lugs for the Rotas:

The lugs are cut with Rota's M14 lug size, which matches the lugs (cone/straight) used in the B5 A4's. My buddy Dino has a B6 which uses the Acorn style lugs (round/cup). You can pick up these cone shaped lugs almost anywhere. All wheel stores, even most auto parts places will have it.

As for the lug conversion. It is not really necessary. Its more of a motorsports or aesthetics thing. If you were to run wide spacers, then yeah, its probably safer to get a conversion. But if you are just changing wheels to most any aftermarket wheel, getting the cone lugs will be just fine. But if you wanted to get the stud conversion, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with it. Just make sure you keep them torqued down.
