I was wondering if anyone has the Type-S BOV recirculating, and if so, please post pics. Thanks.

p.s. I already searched, but didn't find much on this specific setup

The greddy type-s is not a great choice for the 1.8t even if it is recirculated.

BOVs do not cause many issues when they vent to air, the problem is that they allow unmeterd air to enter the intake when under vacuum.

ahh i see. the reason i asked is because i could get one for free if i wanted, but it looks like a DV would be a better choice. im sure theres a thread on here somewhere comparing the different ones

If you want the BOV sound I recommend a Forge 004. If not then a DV will be fine.

If you want a BOV. Get a GReddy Super Sequential. They operate differently than other BOVs. A typical BOV will use backed up boost pressure to blow the valve open whereas the SSQV will use the change-over into vacuum to pull the valve open. It's also got two different stages built in. Meaning there are two valves inside that will open depending on the amount of built up pressure. (5 psi, little valve/24 psi, big valve) Two valves will ensure quick operation so that way you can get back into the boost faster. They also offer a recirculation kit for the BOV so you can just add that if you aren't satisfied and then you aren't out all that money. If ALL else fails then you can just sell the valve to an STi owner or any other boosted ricer guy cause these valves are HOT HOT HOT since they work so well.

Two of my friends have this valve on their cars (1990 Mitsu 3000GT VR-4, 2005 Subaru WRX STi). I installed both of them. Super easy and straight forward. No harder than hooking up a DV.

this is not a honda, guys. . . there are other parts that you can put on your car than GReddy. buy the Forge 004, or follow-suit with what everyone suggests and put in an actual diverter valve!

Let me make a few things clear:

    1. One of the reasons I asked about the Greddy because I have one I can get for free.

    2. I never said I wanted a BOV, or the BOV sound.

    3. I have seen the Greddy Type-S on my friends 95 3000gt VR-4 set up to recirculate similar to the 1.8t, and it held over 20lbs of boost. I thought it would be sufficient for the 1.8t, but now I hear a true DV would be better.

Since I'm more about efficiency/performance rather than sound, I'm guessing one of the forge DV's would work.
