Window tint prices

Ive searched and seen abunch of tint threads, but never about prices.

I was thinking of doing 25-30% in the front, and 20% around the sides and back.

what would that usually cost at a quality place?

First, a quality place usually won't put on illegal tint.

Next, figure 25-50 per window. A sedan done in 3M or Lumar will usually set you back $200-350 depending on materials and shop.

Sedan or Avant?

first and foremost i would suggest getting a referral or recommendation from someone local. Not only the shop, but the actual "tinter" that installed it.

Another concern is brand they use. Any of the "major" brands will suffice. Though, fellow AZers feel free to elaborate on any differences between the brands.

Sedan you're lookin at 5 windows assuming you dont tint the Sunroof and Front window (which i have seen done)

Avant you're looking at 7 windows.

As a frame of reference, 5 windows can run as cheap as $120 as expensive as $300+

I was able to get my Avant tinted (7 windows) for $160 through a mobile tint place so he came to my work and did it in the underground parking garage. Came out VERY nice.

To answer your question, if you were to pay $300+ for all 5 windows, it better be a DAMN GOOD JOB.

That being said, dont rule out the mobile tint services.. they can usually save you a ton because they dont have the same overhead as an actual "tint/alarm shop". Just make sure you have it done in a clean area. You can wet the ground with water so any dust settles and doesn't get kicked back up.

From my current and past tint experiences, there was no cost difference between 20% and 35%

a sedan, Ive been in NY for last few months. Now im going back home to florida on externship. Florida doesnt really domuch alongthe lines of tint.

i have 35% all the way around.

only got one fine, for $45.

i was pulled over for speeding, so getting the fine for tints wasn't so bad.

Get references and call around. Some shops have huge variations in price based on what car you drive, how you look when you walk in, etc.

I stopped by one place and they quoted me $400 for a standard Llumar job, but I found them mentioned on a local ricer forum. When I called in and mentioned that I had seen them on the bulletin board, the price was $150.

I live in oregon and legal limit is 35%. I haev a black/black car, and did 20% all around (soon windshield at 50%) and its hard to see in. Fien durring day and night (and its cloudy and rains here alot).

Anyways cost wise ~150-200. I wouldnt pay more than 200 unless there was somethign special.

also, if you ask most places (that i kno) can do illegal tints, you just have to sign a waiver saying "I WONT DRIVE THIS....BLAH....BLAH....BLAH"



BTW i heard tint ticket here is like 175$, but if you remove it and show pics (usually they remove for free) then it goes down to 15$....but ONLY ONCE

I've been looking around here in Ohio. I found it for $150... but for a quality job, It's at $190.

BTW, a good measure of a tint shop is how close thier tint comes to the edge.
The closer (witrhout flaws) the better.
Make sure you get good tint, you drive an audi, not a civic and purpled tint would just be wrong.
