    Question Custom LED Tail Lights

Hey guys. I saw fly300's old thread regarding custom made LED tail lights similar to B8/B9 A4s. I think this summer I'm going to go forward with building myself a pair, documenting the process on my YouTube channel, and then potentially selling them online depending on how long they take + how much they cost to build.

I wanted to know everyone's thoughts on this, and to gather if this is something I should even bother making to sell. If there's nobody who wants to purchase them then I'll probably just make a singular pair for my own car. I'm going to frost some 3mm acrylic over the LEDs so you won't see each individual LED, and it will be done in the stock housing. I have a 3D printer and basic CAD knowledge, so I should be able to 3D print custom mounts for the LEDS inside of the housing.

Below is a picture of the type of LED style I'm talking about. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on this style tail light compared to the dropshipped Chinesium which is out there currently.

    Thanks.

These are very desirable, as people are always asking about them, but only available for Avants.
Sales will likely depend on price..

Good to know. I'll make a decision after I do it for myself for the first time. I've got a bunch of parts on order (LEDs, soldering iron + wire, 3mm acrylic, more PLA plastic for my 3D printer, an acrylic cutting tool, load equalizers, etc)

This will be exactly the style I'm gonna go for, but for the sedan model.

I wish there was a mass-produced version of those tails, but unfortunately it seems like there isn't. Just people making them custom.
